TWITTER OFFICIALLY BEGINS ROLLING OUT EXCEPTIONS TO 140-CHARACTER LIMIT
Sept. 19 is here, and so are the previously announced tweaks to Twitter’s 140-character limit.
Twitter tweeted Monday: “Say more about what’s happening! Rolling out now: photos, videos, GIFs, polls, and Quote Tweets no longer count toward your 140 characters.”
There’s a catch though, you still only get 140 characters towards your messages, but adding quotes, polls, videos, or images will no longer reduce precious characters. On the other hand, if you only ever include text and/or links in your tweets, there should be no difference.
