LEO BURNETT CHINA’S VICTOR MANGGUNIO IS JOINING ADFEST 2017
ADFEST has announced that Victor Manggunio, Chief Creative Officer of Leo Burnett China, based in Shanghai, is joining the festival as Jury President in Media Lotus & Effective Lotus categories.
“It’s a great honor to accept this invitation and play a role in judging the Media Lotus and Effective Lotus winners – two categories that require the right balance between creative and strategic thinking. I’m really looking forward to seeing which brands and agencies win this year,” says Manggunio, who has worked in the region for 22 years and joined Leo Burnett China as Chief Creative Officer in 2015.

KONZUM BIH AWARDS AN APPARTMENT AND 130 OTHER AWARDS TO LOYAL CUSTOMERS IN BANJA LUKA
Representatives of Konzum BiH presented 131 rewards to its loyal customers within the sweepstake action “Ostvari san, osvoji stan” (“Make your dreams come true, win an apartment”) held from 1 to 31 December last year for all customers.
Thus, Konzum’s loyal customers won 100 shopping gift cards, 10 Apple iPhone 7’s with 32GB, and 20 weekend trips for two people to Mona Zlatibor. The most valuable prize was a flat in Banja Luka, worth 106.000 BAM (€53k), which went to its proud new owner Vanja Đurić.
TIME INC. TO ACQUIRE ADELPHIC AND BUILD A ‘PEOPLE-BASED DSP’
Time Inc. announced Monday that it’s acquiring cross-device and mobile ad platform Adelphic to build what it’s calling a “people-based DSP” (Demand-side platform)
The Adelphic deal, slated to close during Q1, comes just shy of a year after Time Inc. bought Viant for its people-based marketing capabilities in February.
The move will help advertisers “looking for more efficient buying processes for digital audiences,” said Time Inc. president and CEO Rich Battista in a statement.
One of the longest independent cross-device players out there other than Drawbridge, Adelphic was founded in 2010 and raised just over $23.3 million.
Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
DISNEY KICKS OFF MARKETING FOR STAR WARS EPISODE VIII TEASING NEW LOGO AND MOVIE NAME
Disney, fresh off the release of Rogue One: A Star Wars Story has activated the marketing for its next movie in the Star Wars series.
On Monday 23 January, the company revealed the name of the second movie in the latest trilogy, it has been officially branded ‘The Last Jedi’. The reveal from Lucasfilm also displayed a title card imbued with red font for the first time.
A statement on the Star Wars website read: “We have the greatest fans in this or any other galaxy. In appreciation of the fans, we wanted them to be the first to know the title of the next chapter in the Skywalker saga: Star Wars: The Last Jedi.”
The movie will hit cinemas 15 December 2017.
ADAM&EVE FOUNDERS CONFIRM NEW OMNICOM DEAL
Adam&eveDDB is going to be a new international offering within Omnicom following the earn-out by partners James Murphy, Ben Priest and David Golding.
The agency has used the award of Ad Age’s International Agency of the Year gong to announce as much although it’s long been the worst kept ‘secret’ in adland.
There’s no guarantee that A&E’s magic will travel although it already handles some Mars business in the US and recently won a chunk of Samsung and A&E is in the process of opening a New York office.
