ANDREA ŠUMANOVAC APPOINTED PRESIDENT OF HGK’S MARKETING ASSOCIATION

The owner and managing director of the companies Unex Group and Unex Media, Andrea Šumanovac, has been unanimously elected as the president of the Association of Marketing of the Croatian Chamber of Economy (HGK), at the plenary session of this body held on 27 February 2017. Her term will last from 2017 to 2020. Advertising industry has a high economic importance and potential to become a powerful export product, which the Chamber has recognized and has therefore established this Association, which along with Unex Media includes 22 other marketing agencies. At the session it was said that the main objective of the Association is connecting marketing professionals and raising awareness about the importance of marketing processes in a changing market environment.

“I am very pleased that the HGK has recognized the importance that the advertising industry has in the economic trends. The share in GDP and the number of jobs that it provides are not negligible, but the largest value that advertising is an indirect one, and it is generating added value for customers,” said Andrea Šumanovac.

Croatian Chamber of Economy will provide all the necessary technical and institutional support to this economic potential, and will encourage implementation of measures and activities that are important for the development of these industries. Through the functioning and operation of the Council of Association of Marketing, and through continuous cooperation with the Croatian Association for Self-Regulation of Market Communications (HUK) and the Croatian Association of Communication Agencies (HURA), which carry out self-regulation and the provisions of the Code of advertising, the plan is to provide appropriate assistance to the media, advertisers, agencies and consumers and make a significant step towards increasing the quality and reputation of market communications, it was stressed at the meeting of the Association.

IDEA RECEIVES “BESTBUY” AWARD IN SERBIA

Thanks to consumers’ votes, IDEA is now the holder of the prestigious Best Buy Award stamp for the year 2017/2018 as an international retail chain. The best ratio of price and quality and careful selection of portfolio focused on customer needs, quality of service, professionalism and personalized approach to customers all translated into votes, which consumers dominantly gave to the retail chain IDEA. With the first place in this category, IDEA has confirmed the top quality that it provides to consumers in the Serbian market.

The fact that the criteria for this award are experience, satisfaction and perceptions of consumers, based on personal experience, talks volumes about the quality of services of this retailer. Best Buy Award for 2017/18 represents the third award of this kind for IDEA, which since recently also holds the prestigious QUDAL – Quality meDAL recognition.

START IT UP SLOVENIA LAUNCHES SECOND ROUND OF THE PROJECT

Spar Slovenia, POP TV and Formitas BBDO are preparing the second season of the project Start It Up Slovenia, which brings the stories and products of Slovenian entrepreneurs, enabling them valuable business opportunity. This is a campaign that Media Marketing recently declared the Project of the Year for the last year in the Adriatic region.

“Given the results, sale which exceeded all expectations and the support of the public, we have decided that we will continue the project Start It Up Slovenia this year,” said Igor Mervič, CEO of Spar Slovenia. All three project partners are convinced that Slovenia is becoming more entrepreneurial, so in 2017 they will again present products of emerging Slovenian entrepreneurs on the shelves of Spar, while their entrepreneurial stories will be followed by the whole of Slovenia in a series of special shows on POP TV.

The most successful product will win the title Hit Product in 2017, and applications are open until 13 March 2017.

2. BUSINESS LEADERSHIP CONFERENCE IN SARAJEVO

The central theme of this year’s Business Leadership Conference in Sarajevo is reliability, as one of the most important categories for stable growth and business development.

Business Leadership Conference is being organized for the second time in Sarajevo, on 9 March this year. The conference is organized by the In Academy in cooperation with the agency Altermedia.

The conference is held under the topic “Reliable team, a sure way to success” and is designed as a one-day event for leaders of companies. It is organized with the aim of highlighting the importance of synergies between the best practices in the field of leadership and best business solutions. There will be talk about the importance of leadership and business.

The conference is expected to attract more than 200 owners, directors and executive managers of the most successful companies in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

FRANCK BECOMES MEMBER OF EUROPEAN ASSOCIATION OF TEA MAKERS

Croatian company Franck has become a full member of the Tea and Herbal Infusions Europe (THIE) association, based in Hamburg, which brings together the leading European manufacturers and traders of tea and herbal infusions.

This is a professional association at European level which represents the manufacturers and traders of tea (Camellia sinensis) and infusions or herbal teas. Its main objectives are to establish a single European policy with regard to teas and herbal infusions, and developing partnerships, cooperation and dialogue with representatives of the EU and other relevant organizations, in connection with matters relating to the cultivation, production and trade of tea.

“With membership in the association of Tea and Herbal Infusions Europe, Franck reaffirms its focus on ensuring the high quality of their teas, continuous development and innovation in this category in line with global trends and contribution to the development of the overall market of tea in Croatia and the region,” said Ines Umićević, Director of Marketing and Development at Franck.

In accordance with the terms of membership in the THIE association, but also its own business objectives which insist on the highest quality raw materials, production processes and final products, as well as the ongoing building of a relationship of trust with their customers, Franck has started an active education of consumers about their teas. Thus, last year they introduced a redesigned packaging of famous 30 flavors of vegetable, fruit, green and black Franck teas, depicting a compass with information about the properties of the tea, its processing and preparation. In this way, all fans of these hot beverages can get further informed about their favorite teas.

PLAY MEDIA DAY 02 PRESENTS A NETWORK OF POWERFUL NEW GENERATION LEADERS!

This year’s Play Media Day 02, which will be held 19 May at the fortress Kastel in Banja Luka, Bosnia and Herzegovina, will present the JoomBoos project, a unique YouTube platform that has created a network of powerful leaders of the new generation. SPACE TOURISM STARTS: ELON MUSK IS SENDING TWO PEOPLE TO A TRIP AROUND THE MOON

SpaceX’s CEO Elon Musk has announced that it will take two tourists on a trip around the moon next year.

Two people who know each other have asked the company to take them on a week long flight around the moon. Musk did not want to specify the names of future space tourists, nor how much they will be charged.

He said that they have already paid a “considerable” deposit. Musk said that SpaceX is on the way to launch astronauts to the International Space Station for the US space agency NASA by mid-2018.

The mission to the moon would follow six months later, and would use the Dragon capsule and the Falcon, according to N1.

SpaceX announced that tourists would go to the moon, but the capsule would not land on it.

OSCAR WINNER ADDED TO D&AD FESTIVAL LINE-UP
