HURA GETS NEW BOARD, HEADED BY DAVOR BRUKETA
At yesterday’s Electoral Assembly, HURA elected a new management board headed by Davor Bruketa, Creative Director and co-founder of Bruketa & Žinić OM. Other board members are: Božidar Abramović (Omnicom Media Group, management consultant), Daniel Ackerman (Degordian, Director), Mario Fraculj (McCann Zagreb, Director) and Andrea Štimac (Direct Media Communications, Director).
Andrea Šumanovac (Unex Group) was elected president of the Assembly, while Krešimir Renzo Prosoli (Real Media, Director) was appointed as her deputy.
BARBARA KRANJC NO LONGER DIRECTOR OF SLOVENIAN ADVERTISING CHAMBER
The Management Board of the Slovenian Advertising Chamber and its present director Barbara Kranjc have informed the advertising public on their consensual termination of cooperation.
As written in the press release, the Board wish to thank Barbara Kranjc for her successful work over the past five years during which she led the Chamber, and wish her every success in her future career path.
VIA MEDIA IN CAMPAIGN OF HOUSING FOR ROMA IN BIH
To work on the projects System of Social Housing and Roma Action represents a communication challenge, especially when you’r brief is ensuring housing for vulnerable, disadvantaged families and social and economic inclusion of Roma in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Over the previous months, Via Media has worked intensively on the communication strategy, organizing conferences and promotion of implemented activities on providing social housing. While everyone loves to work at VIP events, events organized for these two projects will be among those that Via Media will remember forever, because of the emotions they brought and because of their contribution to social stability in BiH.
An immense joy was shared recently with a total of 211 families in 20 BiH cities, for whom Hilfswerk Austria International, through implementation of the projects System of Social Housing and Roma Action, in cooperation with EU and local partners, built new homes.
EXHIBITION BY DORA BILIĆ AND TINA MȔLLER TO OPEN AT HDD GALLERY
Tonight at 19:00 hours, in HDD Gallery in Zagreb, opens an exhibition of graphic designers Dora Bilić and Tina Műller, called Interpretations. This is a partial retrospective of their work from 2003 to date, and includes about twenty projects (publications, posters, promotional material, etc.) that are connected by the idea of dialogue of the authors with other creative people (artists, architects, designers, choreographers) or their practices, as well as a meticulous and inventive approach to all stages of the production of printed materials, from the unconventional layouts, experimenting with printing procedures, to the use of unusual materials and procedures.
DESIGN STUDIO ANNUAL AWARD CEREMONY TO BE HELD
Design Studio’s Annual Award Ceremony, at which awards and recognitions will be presented to the authors of the best student projects created in the academic year 2014/2015, in the courses of Industrial Design and Visual Communication at the undergraduate and graduate studies of Design Studio, will be held tonight in Zagreb, at Frankopanska 12, beginning at 18:00 hours.
MOST SUCCESSFUL SOCIAL VIDEO BRANDS OF THE YEAR REVEALED
Video ad tech company Unruly has announced the most successful social video brands of 2015, and the first place went to Android.
On their list of Video Sharing Awards, Unruly has placed brands which have been shared most on social media over the year. All awards are based on shares across Twitter, Facebook and the blogosphere each brand has accumulated over the year. According to Unruly, this way it measures a brand viral success more accurately than using the number of views each video receives.
According to their measures, Android’s video campaigns have been the most shared online this year, and special merit for this belongs to their record-breaking ad “Friends Furever” from February, which has been shared 6.432.921 times (out of Android’s total of 6.587.498 shares), also earning the title of the most shared ad of all time. Close second is Red Bull with 6.189.087 shares, followed by Samsung Mobile with 4.704.471 shares.

ABSOLUT OPENS ITS OWN INTERNET OF THINGS LAB
Absolut has opened the doors to its own Internet of Things (IoT) lab in Stockholm. The lab is meant to seek out opportunities for product development, internal education for staff at Absolut as well as other Pernod Ricard brands like Malibu and Kahlua.
A connected bottle might some day, for example, link with third-party products to change the lighting or music in the home, or it might automatically order a new bottle once it starts running low. Who knows?
TOPSY, THE INTERNET’S FAVORITE SOCIAL MEDIA ANALYSIS TOOL, HAS DIED AT 8
One of internet’s favorite social media analytics services unexpectedly went offline a couple of days ago, tweeting “we’ve searched our last tweet”. Topsy.com now redirects visitors to Apple’s site promoting its iOS search tool.
Topsy’s death came two years after Apple purchased it for a reported $200 million. Apple has never publicly revealed why it bought Topsy Labs, or their plans for this platform, but it’s likely the technology was used to overhaul the iOS 9’s “Proactive” tool. It’s also speculated that Apple is using Topsy’s tech to overhaul iAds, its ad network for Apple software.
