Today, 29th of November, and Friday, the 30th, more than 1,200 media and communications professionals from the Adriatic region will gather in GH Bernardin, Portorož, Slovenia, where they will learn more about global trends in marketing, media and communications.
More than 90 entries from six countries are competing for the Sempler Awards this year. The organizers have prepared an excellent programme and many networking opportunities, as well as great entertainment. Some of the world’s largest media will take the SEMPL stage, among them The Washington Post, Facebook and Viber, as well as some of the greatest speakers from the conferences around the world.
Peter Hinssen, the key speaker on the first day of the conference, will prepare the delegates for the ‘day after tomorrow’ that comes earlier than we thought. Emma Winchurch-Beale, International Sales Director at The Washington Post and President of The World Media Group, is going to reveal that quality content attracts an increasingly high number of readers and consequently advertisers.
We will continue the media story with the largest ones, with Facebook. Rustam Ziganishin, Reseller Partner CEE at Facebook, will take the stage and talk about the importance of mobile and video content. The efficiency of video formats is also the topic of Dr. Andrea Malgara, Managing Partner at MediaPuls Group from Germany.
American branding expert David Brier predicts that only the brands, which will connect their communications directly to its products and users will survive. In his presentation, he is going to reveal 10 facts that will make your brand bulletproof to strive in the day after tomorrow.
Don’t miss the renowned British media expert Dean Donaldson, Co-founder of Kaleido, who will talk about the future of media through the lens of technological development and artificial intelligence. One of the most successful Slovenian fashion designers Nina Šušnjara will share some insights about her creative partnerships with prominent brands.
Friday, second day of the festival, will start with talk about data and analytics, and you should not miss the first presentation by David Bassett, Director of Analytics at Lumen Research from UK. He is going to talk about the findings of eye-tracking study on the most visible and efficient media and ads.
After him, Dr. Nikolas Dimitriadis, will step on stage. In his opinion, the new ‘breed’ of transformational marketers is coming, which will be able to use technological and scientific development. One of the key speakers of the second day of SEMPL is Lon Safko, serial innovator and inventor, author, speaker, trainer and consultant who will introduce the concept of the Fusion Marketing. It combines traditional and digital tools and enables a new way of operating in marketing.
The speakers from Finland, Anna Bäckström, Business Leader and Adjunct Professor of Social Psychology, and Ahti Leväaho, Chief Marketing Officer at Smartcart, will take delegates to an in-depth journey of changes in consumer behaviour in a digitalised shop environment.
Atanas Raykov, Head of Global Telecom Partnerships & Director Business Development CIS & CEE at Viber, is going to introduce creative possibilities for advertisers and communicators that this app offers.
