This year’s NO LIMIT BH Advertising Festival seems set to surpass previous ones in both the number and quality of entries, proving the growth of the communication industry in Bosnia and Herzegovina. Beyond the competitive segment, this year’s festival might be remembered for an exclusive guest speaker who will open the festival with a keynote presentation.

My first question for Irena Milićević Vukoja, the owner of the Woman.Comm brand, which owns and organizes the festival, was about who this guest is and what they will discuss.

“We are welcoming Van Rais, a pioneer in Behavioral Branding, who has been helping major global brands like Virgin, GE, Starbucks, and many others connect with people on a deeper level. Van is known for using the science of human behavior to transform brands into drivers of growth and innovation. At the NO LIMIT festival, Van will speak about how uncovering hidden potentials can empower companies to adapt to modern challenges and create authentic, lasting value. This will be a chance to hear how his approach can improve business by understanding people because, ultimately, everything starts with us, people.”

Van Rais, exclusive guest of No Limit

Media Marketing: Van Rais hasn’t been in Sarajevo for a long time. What attracted him to No Limit?

Irena Milićević Vukoja: Van Rais is returning to his hometown after almost 30 years. His presence underscores the significance and international character of the NO LIMIT festival and presents a prime example of someone from Bosnia and Herzegovina who has reached the top of the global advertising market, which is exactly what NO LIMIT, as a festival, aims to inspire within our creative industry in Bosnia – to strive for excellence.

Media Marketing: The jury – who are the members?

Irena Milićević Vukoja: The jury members are prominent experts in the creative and advertising industries from Bosnia and Herzegovina and the region, led this year by Haris Mujanović, last year’s Grand Prix winner. Alongside him, there are 15 other brilliant experts, and you can find the full list of jury members at https://nolimitfestival.ba/.

Media Marketing: Are there any updates in the competitive program this year?

Irena Milićević Vukoja: Yes, there are! Following industry developments and new trends, and inspired by festivals in the region, we’ve added several new categories this year. These include Podcast, Copywriting, Branding/Rebranding, and New Technologies. With the NO LIMIT Adriatic category, we’ve also given an opportunity for all regional campaigns and agencies whose work includes the BiH market to apply. We aim to encourage the region’s participation in local activities since, besides the competitive aspect, NO LIMIT certainly plays a role in further educating our market and fostering connections.

Media Marketing: How are the applications coming along? Do BiH agencies recognize the importance of NO LIMIT?

Irena Milićević Vukoja: We are truly satisfied with both the number and quality of applications. This year, advertisers have shown impressive results in their campaigns, and it’s great to see agencies submitting not just one, but multiple high-quality works.

Media Marketing: Can this year’s festival exceed last year’s in terms of the number of entries?

Irena Milićević Vukoja: We are proud to say that this year has seen a record number of applications, and NO LIMIT continues to grow year by year. This is a strong indicator of the importance of continuously working together to improve the festival because by doing so, we build a shared network and strive for a better creative industry that keeps pace with the region and the world.

Media Marketing: If you were to express the greatest values of No Limit in one sentence, how would you phrase it?

Irena Milićević Vukoja: The NO LIMIT BH Advertising Festival celebrates extraordinary creativity and boundary-pushing in advertising, emphasizing the importance of courage and innovation in contemporary marketing, because by awarding creative values, we breathe new energy into the development of advertising and motivate creative people to achieve even greater accomplishments, knowing that only new ideas create conditions for a prosperous future for the creative industry in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Media Marketing: Your final invitation to agencies and advertisers ahead of No Limit.

Irena Milićević Vukoja: I invite all creatives and agencies to join us on November 21 at the European House of Culture to push the boundaries of the Bosnian creative industry together!
