As of today, we are moving forward with somewhat changed – I sincerely hope for the better – content of the portal.
Two years ago we implemented a very successful series of interviews within the project The Young Leaders for Tomorrow. We promoted 57 young people from the regional communications industry who demonstrate leadership skills and who should assume responsibility for its survival and development in the future. We hosted 27 of them at the House on the Flat Hill, in Mokrin, Serbia, and we organized a three-day Leaders with Leaders meeting. We brought in eight “grown up” and experienced leaders who shared their experience with our young leaders. The meeting in Mokrin was invaluable for young leaders. I remember that on the third day we ended the program at 13:00, so they could go home after lunch. Everyone came to Mokrin with cars, and they had to travel back to Croatia, Slovenia and Bosnia. However, after lunch, they continued to hang around until I literally broke them up around five o’clock in the afternoon. I know for a fact that their contacts still last. They became friends.
As of today, we continue with the stories of young leaders. We worked hard over the summer. We established contacts with agencies, and they responsibly assessed their young employees, so now we have a list of 75 young leaders whom we will present in the next 75 working days – so every day until the New Year. We will network them so they could exchange their experiences and ideas and become the strength of the regional communications industry. In the spring next year, we will gather them for a three-day gathering and give them a chance to listen first-hand to the stories of experienced leaders.
Today, we also started a new adventure with the Theme of the Day. I say an adventure, because this is a big challenge for our small team. Every day we will comment on some interesting topic from different angles. These will not be responses to the daily news in the communications industry, although we will try to do that as well if something really interesting and important comes up.
Our plan is to publish ten texts each day. Five original texts, four interesting news from the region and the world and a 24-hour section with as many short news as we can. We are very determined and dedicated to this concept that should strengthen the position of Media Marketing as the most relevant media in the regional communications industry. We will succeed if we are well organized and highly disciplined. As far as the organization is concerned – no problems there. It’s easy to organize a small team of people who are committed to their work. Discipline? That’s where I’m the biggest problem, since I always want to change something, but I’ll try to change that. There’s no other way around it.
Preparation of the book Creative Portfolio 01 is going as planned. I believe that we will finish it by the Golden Drum.
