On Monday, as a member of the media jury, I evaluated submissions for BalCannes 2025. This year, the highest number of campaigns was submitted – 80 in total. Socially responsible campaigns dominated, and among them, the majority focused on preventing violence against women. I regret that not a single campaign from Bosnia and Herzegovina was submitted, even though there were those that deserved to be among the best. What I regret the most is that the campaign “It’s Time to Stop and End Violence,” created by the Via Media agency for Bingo Group, was not submitted. I am certain that this campaign would have been among the best, and it might even have been declared the best overall.
Haris Mujanović, CEO of Via Media, believes that this may be the most important campaign the agency has ever executed. The only rational reason I see for its absence from BalCannes is that it was launched in the media after the submission deadline.
In the past year or two, awareness has been growing about how underestimated and hindered women are in their development across all fields. Women make up only 4% of corporate management, and very few are recipients of prestigious awards in science, culture, and other significant sectors of society. A particularly pressing issue is violence against women—their sexual harassment and physical abuse in the workplace, within families, and in public spaces. This must come to an end. That is why the “It’s Time to Stop and End Violence” campaign by Bingo Group holds special significance at a time when we are increasingly recognizing that women should be respected, cherished, and cared for—not mistreated and abused.
In two days, it will be International Women’s Day – a chance for us to show solidarity and support all women who are victims of violence. Let’s join the Bingo initiative: pause our business activities for half an hour, stand up, and show that violence against women is an evil that must be eradicated. Let’s sign the petition online, lobby for the adoption of laws preventing violence against women, and do everything in our power to ensure that there are no more abused wives, mothers, and sisters in our communities. They do not deserve this – without them, we wouldn’t exist.
Bravo, Bingo Group! Bravo, Via Media! And bravo to everyone who will take a stand on March 8th!
