Tomorrow (Wednesday), in Portorož (Slovenia), begins the jubilee 25th Golden Drum, the festival of creative advertising where the best works from 28 countries will compete. The educational part of the program is as rich as the competitive part. Speakers from different areas will be present: from technology and communication to philosophy. These lectures should be a compulsory content for anyone who wants to understand and live the creative transformation of the future.

To all of us from the communications industry of the Adriatic region, Golden Drum should be one of the most important events of the year because it provides us the most when we want to compare ourselves with players from the “neighboring yards” and see how the work is done in a wide area, covering 28 countries. Our creative models are not on the other side of the Atlantic, but right here, in our neighborhood, in the creative Balkans – and a bit further. This is the area where we need to show how strong our ideas are. To be able to do so, we need to get to know the area that these 28 countries cover very well, and this is best done at the Golden Drum. From the presentation of the submitted works we can get the best view of creativity, and at the award ceremony we can see the best that the advertising industry had to offer last year.

Special thanks are due to the Slovenian Chamber of Commerce (SOZ) because of the fact that they have introduced a category in which they reward the best works from the Adriatic region. No additional registration fees needed. All the works registered to the Golden Drum from our region automatically compete for special awards, intended only for “our” agencies.

It turns out that all roads lead to Portorož this Wednesday. It’s still not too late to register for attendance. As we customarily make such decisions at the very last moment, organizers are ready to accept your last minute registrations. They say the weather will be nice, and the sunny Portorož seems very enticing. Just as the Golden Gala at the Golden Drum Grand Finale, where the winners will be announced.

Take a look at your agenda for Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. Do the most important things today, pack the essentials, start your car and hit the road to Portoroz. It’s worth it!
