The three-day, 23rd international PRO PR conference has opened at the Hilton hotel in Podgorica, once again bringing together communications professionals from the region and beyond. Held under the motto “Leadership in Communication”, the conference creates space for discussion on key industry challenges and transformations, with a focus on the role of leadership in the context of rapid change.

The conference was opened by Justin Green, president of the Global Alliance for Public Relations and Communication Management, an organization that brings together more than 320,000 communications professionals worldwide. Alongside local speakers, the program also features representatives of the communications industry from numerous countries, further confirming the international character of the event.

The PRO PR conference is the only international conference in Eastern and Southeastern Europe held under the patronage of relevant institutions, and this year it has also received recognition from the Chartered Institute of Public Relations (CIPR) as an educational platform of exceptional program value.

As highlighted by conference founder Danijel Koletić, PRO PR was launched 23 years ago in Herceg Novi, while it is being held in Montenegro for the fourth consecutive year. The focus of his address was the speed of change the industry is facing, particularly in the context of artificial intelligence development: “The communications industry is constantly evolving and requires continuous learning in order to survive. One of the biggest challenges today is artificial intelligence, which is present in all areas of business. People are often unaware of how fast these changes are; regardless of whether they work in communications, medicine, sales or legal services, it is necessary to adopt high-quality and professional regulations related to artificial intelligence as soon as possible,” emphasized Koletić.

This year’s edition is held under the patronage of the Public Relations Service of the President of Montenegro, the Public Relations Service of the Government of Montenegro and the Tourism Organisation of Podgorica. The organization’s director, Dragan Grnović, welcomed attendees at the opening and presented Podgorica as a destination that is increasingly positioning its conference and tourism potential.

Over the three days, more than 220 participants are expected, and the central part of the program includes the presentation of the prestigious PRO PR Globe Awards, which will take place on March 27. These awards stand out for their specific selection model – without entry fees or applications, with winners nominated exclusively by previous laureates and members of the professional community.

As part of this year’s ceremony, special recognitions will also be presented. The PRO PR Globe Vision City award will be given to the Municipality of Plav, while the PRO PR Globe Transparency Awards will go to the Central Bank of Montenegro. The PRO PR Globe Vision Manager recognition will be awarded to Zorica Mišković Pavičević, manager of the shopping center BIG Group, and Branko Mitrović, director of the company One.

For contributions to the development of the profession, the PRO PR Globe INFIGO Awards will be presented to Sead Fočo, owner of the Media Marketing portal, and Justin Green, president of the Global Alliance for Public Relations and Communication Management.

The PRO PR Globe Entrepreneur award will be presented to Avdo Ramčilović, director of the company Geaprodukt.

This year’s edition of the PRO PR conference once again confirms its position as a relevant platform for the exchange of knowledge and experience in the communications industry, at a time when questions of regulation, technology and leadership are becoming crucial for its further development.
