Studio Size has just had its biggest year to date. The Zagreb-based design studio has been included on the official European Design Awards ranking among the 20 best design studios in all of Europe – a multi-year ranking that tracks studio results across multiple seasons of competition. But it didn’t stop there: according to the same list, Studio Size also claimed first place in Europe in the packaging design category.
European Design Awards is one of the most relevant European recognitions in the field of communication design, which puts this result in its proper context – this is not a local success story, but a positioning alongside studios from London, Berlin and Paris.
Nominated for One of the World’s Most Prestigious Web Awards
Alongside the European recognition, Studio Size is also making waves in digital design. The website they created to promote the Croatian font Exat – developed by local type foundry Hot Type – has been nominated for Awwwards Site of the Year 2025. Awwwards is an international platform that brings together and evaluates the best web projects in the world, and the nomination comes in competition with major global studios and agencies. The collaboration between two Croatian creative teams has thus been recognised on a global scale.
In addition to that nomination, the studio has already secured the Awwwards Site of the Day award for the website of French film editor Emilie Aubry, who works with global brands including Apple, Nike, Google and Chanel.
Coachella, Benetton and Times Square
The year has been further marked by work on projects for the Coachella festival and packaging design for Benetton perfumes. This is not the first time Studio Size‘s work has reached global heights – select projects have already been displayed on Times Square in New York, and the studio’s portfolio includes collaborations with world-renowned music acts such as Swedish House Mafia.
12 People Against the Rest of Europe
Behind all of these results stands a team of just 12 designers and creatives. The studio was founded by art director Jurica Koletić, director and brand strategist Ivan Fistrić, and creative director Andrej Virant Sadiković.
“What matters most to us in all of this is that as a creative team from Croatia, with a relatively small number of people, we can compete on equal footing with studios from London, Berlin or Paris. Without a large infrastructure, but with a clear focus on quality of work and long-term consistency,” says Fistrić.
Although Studio Size leads in packaging design, their work extends far beyond a single discipline – over the years they have built a reputation in visual identities, digital platforms, typography, motion design and campaigns.
