Art Directors Club (ADC), one of the longest-standing and most influential organizations in the creative industry, once again brought together leading global experts this year to evaluate the best work in design, advertising, and communications. At the center of the final judging process, held at the end of March in New York, was also the packaging design category, which continues to demonstrate its growing importance within the industry year after year.
Among the jury members of this year’s 105th edition of the ADC Awards was Sean Poropat, creative director and co-owner of Studio Sonda. As part of the Packaging jury, Poropat, together with colleagues from Tokyo, New York, San Francisco, Florence, and Gurgaon, evaluated submissions from around the world, providing insight into the latest developments and standards in packaging design.

The judging process was opened by Brian Collins, Chairman of the ADC Board, who is already familiar to the regional audience as a guest of the Dani komunikacija festival. On that occasion, he once again highlighted his positive experiences with Rovinj and the festival organized by HURA, along with announcing his upcoming return to Croatia.
“It is a great honor to be part of the ADC Awards jury, especially in a year when this prestigious organization celebrates its 105th anniversary. Spending several days in New York evaluating top-tier global work in the Package Design category was an inspiring experience, and it is truly interesting to see how packaging design is pushing boundaries on so many levels. At the same time, I am filled with a sense of pride in the strength of our local scene. In comparison, I can say that Croatian packaging design is relevant on a global level, considering that many important international awards come to Croatia precisely from this category.”
Founded in 1920, ADC organizes the longest-running awards program recognizing excellence across a wide range of creative disciplines, from design and advertising to illustration, photography, and motion.
Sean Poropat’s participation in this year’s jury further confirms the continued growth of visibility and credibility of Croatian design on the global stage, especially in the packaging segment, which is increasingly becoming a space for strategic brand differentiation.
