When people ask me what I will remember this year by, several images and sounds assembled into a short film flash before my eyes. It looks like the rewinding of the old VHS tapes … Flowing before my eyes are stage lights, live audiences, the sounds of fado in a dim Portuguese pub, taste of the most perfect gin-tonic i’ve ever tasted … For some strange reason I always remember the intense heat and extreme cold. I remember the nights spent at the computer with a stack of papers on the table and exiting the building of Bussines Academy with a degree in hand … I remember the nights spent in the office, a racing heart from lack of sleep and stress, the first Apaurin I took … I remember the pain in my legs as I ran with hundreds of people through a forest with no end in sight, thinking “what on earth made me do this”…
But the most important thing I remember every year is that I’ve grown a bit again, I’ve grown stronger and enriched my life with something. I’ve became at least a bit braver and learned to love myself a little more, and I’ve learned to better accept the people and things around me.
Every year I give myself the same task: Learn to love unconditionally and to be happy. Learn to push your own limits and expand your horizons. Learn to conquer your fears. Learn to seize the day to the fullest. Learn.
