Igor Štefanac is 37 years old and is a graduated journalist of Faculty of Political Science of Zagreb. Upon finishing studies, he gained his first working experience at the Republic of Croatia Ministry of the Interior where he worked, first as a counselor for public relations at the Zagreb Police Department, and then as deputy spokesman in the Cabinet of the Minister.
After working at the Ministry for three years, he was then hired as a Head of PR at the Croatian Banking Association. At that position, his main task was to establish the function and prepare the public for the initiation of operations of credit register of banks, HROK.
In 2008, after two and half years of working at the Association, he started cooperation with an agency for communication management, Premisa, where he worked as a counselor for clients such as Zagrebačka banka, MOL, INA and Croatia Airlines.
In 2010, IKEA announced plans to enter the Croatian market. Igor applied for a job position and was lucky enough to be chosen as the PR Manager for Croatia and Slovenia. At this position, he supported communication activities and efforts for the implementation of the project regarding the construction of IKEA’s department store in Zagreb. After four years in Zagreb, he transferred to IKEA’s regional headquarters in Belgrade where he worked as a Regional Manager of PR. Once they received a construction permit for the first IKEA store in Belgrade, the decision was made for Igor to return to Zagreb in 2015 and with his experience continue to support the department store in Zagreb –now with the operative business.
