The Sempler Awards Competition for the best media strategies in the Adriatic region has been held for the past 16 years as a part of the SEMPL Media Trends Conference.
Entries can be submitted in as many as 13 different categories. Among them, the jury will also choose the best one, which will be awarded with the highest award, the Grand Sempler for the best media strategy of the year. The recipients of two special awards TOP Sempl Award for the Media Manager 2018 and The Future Media Star 2018 will also be revealed at SEMPL.
The submitted entries will be judged by the nine-member international jury of prominent marketing and communications professionals from the client and agency side of business. The jury will be led by Zdenka Milanović, Cluster Marketing Manager for Local Spirits at Coca-Cola Hellenic, joined by members Lejla Beba, Marketing and Communications Director, ASA Bank, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Vasilije Ćorluka, Chief Creative Officer, Publicis One Adriatic, Macedonia, Sanja Đekić, Head of Digital, Mediacom CE, Croatia, Nataša Filipović, Managing Director, Ovation BBDO Belgrade, Serbia, Miranda Mladin, Executive Director for Central Marketing and Innovation, Atlantic Group, Croatia, Boris Rogan, Managing Director, Luna\TBWA Zagreb, Croatia, Matevž Šmalc, Head of Brand and Experience, A1 Slovenija, and Alina Žugelj Pikalo, Media Manager, Pristop Media, and Managing Director, Mediaplus Adria, Slovenia.
According to Zdenka Milanović, the Sempler Awards Jury President, the great media strategy stands out for its authenticity and connection to the brand strategy regardless of the available budget. She points out that this understanding encourages innovative choice of media channels and content that the jury will seek and reward. “Fundamental and fast changes in our industry demand an on-going dialogue on how much we are ready for change, how innovative we are, and whether new ideas are recognised and rewarded. SEMPL is known by its openness to the future trends with all the challenges they bring. This vision also reflects in the submitted media strategies. On behalf of the jury, I can only confirm that we will support the entries that bring a fresh perspective to the future trends,” added Milanović.
The organisers added two new categories last year, best PR strategy or promotion, and best technology approach. This year, they will also reward the best influencer marketing campaign. The category best use of influencer marketing is open to all campaigns that include an influencer, celebrity or ambassador as a part of a cross-channel, digital or social media marketing campaign. The jury will reward its excellence in design, execution and development while showcasing creativity, innovation, clear KPIs and objective(s).
The entries can be submitted on the SEMPL web page. Organisers kindly invite the entrants to submit their projects in as many different and relevant categories as possible. The entries deadline is the 10th of November, 2018.
