The leading regional annual sports marketing and sponsorship conference in Southeastern Europe, the SPORTO Conference, brings together all the key players from the industry in one place. Two action-packed days, full of interesting guests and discussions, were accompanied by an evening Brands & Awards Ceremony.
Last night, the winners of the SPORTO Awards 2017 and SPORTO Brands were announced. SPORTO Awards perfectly illustrate the capability of brands, rights holders and agencies to deliver against the strategic goals of businesses in the region and as a shop-window of best practice. The range, from all across the Adriatic region, covers integrated programmes engaging brands with fans through their passion points of global sports to community activities, from healthy living campaigns to direct sales drivers and targeting from the very young to more mature audiences.

The SPORTO Brands recognitions were also presented to the most popular, recognised, successful and marketable athletes and sports clubs in three countries: Slovenia, Croatia and Serbia, and are presented in association with the Institute for market and media research, Mediana. The results are based on a poll among the general public in each of these countries.
In Slovenia, alpine skier Ilka Štuhec for the first time, basketball player Goran Dragić after 4 years and football club NK Maribor for the sixth time became SPORTO Brands 2017.
In Croatia, athlete Sandra Perković and hockey club KHL Medveščak Zagreb have won for the fifth time, football player Luka Modrić has won the male athlete award in Croatia for the third time in a row.
Tennis star Novak Đoković has won the male athletes category in Serbia for the fifth time and in the female athletes category there was the third consecutive triumph of the track and field athlete Ivana Španović. The clubs award this year went to FC Crvena zvezda.
