International award-winning mobile app Zagreb Be There is offering a new Christmas route for tourists visiting the city. The Kiss&Tell route promotes love as the essence of the Christmas holidays, and is composed of Zagreb locations where tourists and citizens can take a photo of their kiss with someone they love, and share it on social networks, in order to get the opportunity to win prizes.
The Zagreb Tourist Board thus decided to use the kiss under the mistletoe, as almost globally known Christmas custom, and this Advent encourage visitors to Zagreb to explore new unusual places in the city with the help of their smartphones. The app also automatically applies a special filter with Christmas mistletoe on the picture.
As part of the campaign, Goran Kovačević or KovaZG, known for the project Humans of Zagreb, will photograph the kisses and locations of the route, and visitors of Zagreb’s official tourist website on Facebook will be able to take part in guessing where the site is located. At the end of Advent, the best location for a kiss in Zagreb will be declared, based on the number of photos. Along with Kiss&Tell route, the traditional Advent Zagreb route has also been activated, which this year consists of the unavoidable Advent places such as the Ice Park, Tomićeva street or the European market.
Through its five permanent and two Advent routes, Zagreb Be There serves visitors of the city as a local insider in their pocket, suggesting different and less widely publicized themed routes for touring the city with the help of smartphones. The app is free and available on Android and iPhone devices, and can be downloaded from the microsite betherezagreb.com. The app was devised and created in 2014 by the agency Bruketa&Žinić OM, and so far has won several awards, including one for the best digital tourist promotion in Europe (Tourism & Strategy Festival, Paris, 2015) and for tourism innovation of the year (Days of Croatian Tourism, Opatija, 2015).
