Zagreb, June 26, 2025 – Weekend.18, the largest regional communications festival, is this year launching Energy.Weekend Powered UP by E.ON – a new one-day platform focused on energy transition and sustainable solutions that actually work. In partnership with E.ON, the event will take place on September 19 at the Grand Park Hotel Rovinj, gathering leading figures from the energy sector, industry, finance, and public sector to engage in open discussions about a transformation that is smart, efficient, and economically viable – not just green.
“The world is changing faster than ever – habits, expectations, technologies, and the way we live our daily lives. In such times, we can’t afford to be mere observers. Energy must not lag behind. Our ambition is clear: we want to be drivers of change and create a new face of energy. We aim to accelerate the energy transition towards a sustainable system through concrete, advanced energy solutions, a proactive approach, and by creating a space for dialogue and collaboration. That’s why we at E.ON decided to support and, together with the organizers of the Weekend Media Festival, launch the first Energy.Weekend Powered UP by E.ON – because we believe it’s crucial to talk openly about the challenges and opportunities the energy transition brings. We see it as a gathering place for the energy community and all those interested in the sector – a platform for exchanging ideas, sharing inspiration, and collectively raising the bar of progress. We believe real change happens when knowledge, experience, and vision come together in concrete action. I look forward to seeing many experts, leaders, and enthusiasts in one place, and I invite everyone to join us in an open dialogue about the energy future we’re building together,” said Vladimir Sabo, Director of E.ON Energy Infrastructure Solutions for Croatia and Slovenia.
Energy.Weekend will focus on what’s often missing from conversations about energy – real numbers, sustainable business models, and firsthand experiences from those already making the transition. Through case studies, panel discussions, and open forums, the event will explore what the world of 2045 might look like and whether we are prepared for the scenario of a total energy collapse. Discussions will address the profitability of new production models – such as power plants available for a symbolic fee – and showcase individuals and entrepreneurs already producing their own energy today. The event will also highlight the role of ESG criteria in business operations and delve into e-mobility, with a critical look at whether it truly represents a revolution or is simply an appealing market narrative. Geopolitical implications, which are an inevitable part of energy transition, will not be overlooked either. The diverse topics of Energy.Weekend are tailored to a wide range of business functions – from entrepreneurs to CFOs, COOs, and many others.
While Rovinj may not offer instant solutions, it brings together people who are seeking them – and who are already implementing them in practice. Energy.Weekend is conceived as a platform for those who want to understand the changes, actively participate, and make decisions that have real impact. A detailed program and more information are available on the festival’s official website.
