A new campaign for World Climate Day in Colombia has taken a very simple approach to deliver a strong punch with its message that warns of worrying effects of climate change. In honor of the World Climate Day, organization Conservative International designed a spot that highlights climate change with real footage from different parts of the world, but all with one common element.
The campaign „Nature Signs“, developed by MullenLowe SSP3 Colombia, features various shots of traffic signs in the midst of storms. The signs, in the context of these climatic disasters, show how easily life can be altered. Stop signs blow violently in the wind, are covered up by flood waters and obscured by snow.
“We used real journalistic photos of several floods, hurricanes and storms around the world to reinterpret the meaning of traffic signs. By putting them in a different context, we were able to use the signs to convey messages to humans from nature and the earth so people stop and think about the impact their actions have on the world,” said Carlos Andrés Rodríguez, chief creative officer at MullenLowe SSP3.
Nature Signs will air on TV through a collaboration with Caracol Television, along with outdoor and social media elements across Colombia.
