As part of the Luna \TAKE OFF program, the agency Luna \TBWA once again opened its doors to five young enthusiasts passionate about advertising. Throughout February and March, they participated in a one-month intensive program. In addition to working on a real brief for an actual client, the participants expanded their advertising knowledge through 15 lectures and workshops led by Slovenian and international marketing experts from the TBWA network.

From almost 100 applicants to the advertising bootcamp, the selected participants were: copywriter Klara, media planner Neža, strategist Manca, designer Sofiia, and project manager Lan – together forming a small agency within the agency. Under the close supervision of their mentors, they developed a creative campaign based on a brief for Argeta in just one month. At the end of the program, they presented their ideas to the entire agency and representatives of the client.

Through the lectures and workshops, they gained deeper insight into the roles of copywriters, designers, project managers, strategists, and media planners. They learned five techniques for creative thinking, explored the digital media environment and the process of creating an advertising campaign, gained an understanding of jury work at festivals from an art director’s perspective, delved into the world of social media, familiarized themselves with the media landscape, learned everything (and more) about branding, explored the financial side of campaigns, and were introduced to the international educational programs of the TBWA GLP network.

The goal of the Luna \TAKE OFF program is to give students the opportunity to experience working in an advertising agency firsthand. The idea was to show them that agency work can be fun, creative, and dynamic – and to break the myth that it’s “just exhausting work.” At the same time, the aim was to give the most talented young individuals hands-on experience, knowledge, and skills in a short time, thereby contributing to a bright future for the advertising industry.

Martin Stariha, Director of Client Services and Employee & Culture Development:
“The third generation of ‘takeoff-ers’ left a special mark. They impressed us with their curiosity and proactiveness, their desire to work in advertising, their openness, and their very mature view of the industry. They connected with our Lunatics, and – what’s especially important to us – it wasn’t just them who learned; we also gained many fresh insights and ideas. I believe that after a month of working with us, they are ready for new challenges in the advertising world. For us, it was another valuable experience that reminded us how creative this industry is, how much cross-disciplinary knowledge we possess, and how much we truly enjoy what we do.”

Klara Gorjup, Copywriter at Luna \TAKE OFF:
“The main thing I’ll take away from the Luna \TAKE OFF program is the realization that you shouldn’t hold yourself or your ideas back just because you’re a little scared at first. What impressed me most was the genuine passion the people at Luna have for their work – something I first felt during the lectures, and even more so through their energy, conversations, ideas, and mutual support.”

Neža Klun, Media Planner at Luna \TAKE OFF:
“What thrilled me the most was creating the campaign, as it was my first time doing so. The relationships within our team were great – we called ourselves ‘a small agency in a big one.’ Looking back, I see how much I’ve learned and how valuable this experience was. I was also pleasantly surprised by the atmosphere at Luna – everyone is kind, open, and always ready to help. It really felt like one big family.”

Živa Deu, Head of Digital Strategy, Strategic Business Unit Spreads, Atlantic Grupa:
“When the passion of young talent meets the experience of seasoned marketing professionals, something special happens. It was inspiring to watch the young team, under the guidance of the Lunatics, shape their first complete campaign idea for Argeta  –  bold, different, yet with a clear message. Marketers often ‘chase their own tails,’ making it difficult for students to find mentors. That’s why programs like this are so valuable – they enable the transfer of knowledge based on solid foundations that transcend fleeting trends, ensuring that marketing remains strategic, thoughtful, and effective, even in the future – with fresh perspectives and new technologies.”
