The communication industry conference Woman.Comm 2025, which once again brings together leading experts from the worlds of media, communications, marketing, and business, opened today in Sarajevo. The focus of this fourth edition is the slogan REBLOOM, symbolizing flourishing in times of change and challenge – a renewed awakening of creativity, unity, and the strength of women in communications.
Over the course of two days, October 14 and 15, the audience can expect a dynamic program filled with inspiring lectures, panels, and conversations with distinguished leaders from across the region. Woman.Comm once again brings topics that reflect the spirit of the times, exploring the transformation of the communication industry and offering fresh perspectives on how success is built in an environment that is constantly evolving.
The discussions will address both global and local challenges – how to communicate in an atmosphere of constant uncertainty, social pressures, and rapid transformations. The audience can look forward to panels on how marketing and events shape perceptions of value, as well as case studies revealing how traditional brands are finding new ways to communicate with generations that live online.
“REBLOOM symbolizes what many of us feel today – the need to bloom again and rediscover our strength within ourselves and our communities. In four years, Woman.Comm has grown from an idea into a movement that brings together hundreds of experts from across the region, building a network of support and a space for sharing knowledge and empathy – and that is our greatest value,” said Irena Miličević Vukoja, the organizer of the conference, adding that although more women are visible in leadership positions and openly discussing equality, new challenges such as digital pressures and burnout call for unity and dialogue: “That’s why Woman.Comm remains a safe place for growth and inspiration, because the power of communication begins with honesty and mutual understanding.”
During the morning session, participants heard inspiring stories and experiences from women who have been shaping the communication industry for decades. This was followed by the lecture “Woman in the Balkans”, in which Danijela Ostojić, clinical psychologist, spoke about the challenges, strength, and authenticity of women in modern society. Danijela shared real stories from her practice, giving voice to women who have found ways to live more freely and courageously:
“I believe that the real-life stories of women in the Balkans can help many realize that we can break free from the patterns that limit us and begin living in harmony with ourselves. It’s a process that requires courage – but also the support of a community. That’s exactly why conferences like this are so important,” said Danijela Ostojić.
Journalist, host, and editor Jelena Obućina, who took part in the discussion on the power of honest communication, spoke about the challenges faced by the media landscape and the consequences of compromises made under pressure.
“Media have always carried enormous responsibility, today, even more so. Truth has become the most expensive news, and audiences are increasingly seeking not information, but confirmation of their own beliefs and feelings. It’s difficult to work under such conditions, with constant political, financial, and social pressures. But if we lose faith in professionalism and ethics, we will lose the public’s trust and our chance to help our societies. Journalism must remain a space of integrity, not of interest,” said Jelena Obućina.
As the conference program continues, participants can expect more inspiring lectures and discussions that will further open important topics of the modern communication and business scene. During the case study session “Campaigns with a Purpose: Marketing in the Service of Social Change”, Amna Džambić Branković, Ana Ponjević, and Irena Dombaj Šarić will present their examples and experiences, moderated by Irena Knežević. After that, the panel “The Power of Women Beyond the Glass Ceiling” will feature Jasminka Horvat Martinović, Jelena Trivan, and Sabina Softić, who will discuss obstacles and paths to leadership, moderated by Mersiha Mima Mehić. The first day of the conference will conclude with the lecture “When Is Enough Enough?”, delivered by Belma Hadžiomerović, bringing a powerful message about setting boundaries and maintaining personal balance in a world of constant expectations.
In the evening, the Woman.Comm Of The Year awards ceremony will take place, honoring exceptional careers and contributions of women whose work inspires and pushes the boundaries of the communications industry.
After an inspiring first day filled with the exchange of knowledge, experiences, and ideas, the Woman.Comm conference continues tomorrow, bringing new topics, speakers, and conversations about strength, creativity, and the transformations shaping the modern world of communications.
