POPUP!2025 Sarajevo is a festival primarily aimed at students of visual arts, but also open to anyone interested in various forms of visual communication and design. The festival is organized by students of the Academy of Fine Arts Sarajevo, Department of Graphic Design.
POPUP!2025 will open on Wednesday, May 14, 2025, at 8:00 PM at the Gallery of the Academy of Fine Arts in Sarajevo, where an exhibition of works created within the Blending project will also be presented.

Lectures, exhibitions, and PechaKucha Night are open to everyone interested in design and art, and entrance is free.
Workshops are closed to the public and will be attended by registered students only.
Over the course of four days, POPUP!2025 will offer five lectures by leading regional and international artists and designers, three workshops, three exhibitions, a roundtable discussion, a presentation by Blending project participants, and the must-see PECHAKUCHA NIGHT Sarajevo.

SPEAKERS
This year, POPUP!2025 focuses on the theme Art & Design. Reflecting this theme, the festival will host renowned artists and designers who explore the intersections and boundaries between art and design in their work.
The speakers at POPUP!2025 are: Javier Jaén, Graphic Designer, Spain;
Domestic Data Streamers, Design-Research Studio, Spain; Studio Clinica, Design Studio, Croatia; Frederico Duarte, Curator, Writer, and Critic, Portugal; Bojan Stojčić, Visual Artist, Bosnia and Herzegovina.
The lectures will take place on Thursday, May 15, and Friday, May 16, starting at 10:00 AM, at Kino Meeting Point.
What is PechaKucha Night?
PechaKucha Night Sarajevo is an important part of the POPUP! festival, offering young creatives a platform to present their work. The presentation format consists of 20 slides, each shown for exactly 20 seconds.
This year’s PechaKucha Night Sarajevo 2025 will be held on May 15 at Kino Meeting Point, starting at 7:30 PM.

When are the exhibitions?
Three exhibitions will be held as part of POPUP!2025:
- Wednesday, May 14 at 8:00 PM – At the ALU Gallery, during the opening of POPUP!2025, an exhibition will be presented featuring works from three exhibitions created within the Blending project.
- Thursday, May 15 at 5:00 PM – The exhibition “80 Years of BHRT”, a student poster exhibition, will be opened at Susan Sontag Square.
- Saturday, May 17 at 2:30 PM – At the Academy of Fine Arts, an exhibition and presentation of works created during the POPUP!2025 workshops will take place, featuring: Lejla Zunđa, Ajdin Bradarić, Hanna Mujagić, Annela Ružnić, Merjem Jasavić, Samra Džebo, Ryan O’Hara, Mustafa Mlinarević
