The Slovenian-Croatian project Alternate Re[AI]lity, developed by the creative studio Digital Da Vincis for the PEEK&POKE Computer Museum in Rijeka, won a Bronze Clio at this year’s Clio Entertainment Awards 2025. The ceremony was held on 13 November at the Dolby Theatre, home of the Academy Awards, and was hosted by comedian, actress and producer Rachel Bloom.

In the Live & Entertainment category, only a few dozen projects were included – those recognizing events “for a live or virtual audience, including museums, performing arts, or theatre.” Among the standouts were the Opening Ceremony of the Paris 2024 Olympic Games (this year’s Grand Prix winner at Cannes Lions), as well as projects by Netflix, New York City Ballet, Universal Studios, the Museum of Modern Art (MoMA), and leading Broadway musicals.

This is the first time ever that a project from Slovenia has won a Clio Entertainment Award, one of the world’s most prestigious recognitions for creativity in marketing and communications within film, television, gaming and the entertainment industry.

The Bronze Clio in the Live & Entertainment category confirms the exceptional creative reach of Alternate Re[AI]lity, which has already been recognized internationally through a nomination for The Webby Awards 2025, a Gold at the Slovenian Advertising Festival (SOF), Silver at Epica Awards, and Bronze at The Anthem Awards.

“Winning the Clio award is a huge success for our small studio from Slovenia – especially since we were among the leading marketing projects for film, gaming and streaming giants such as Netflix, Apple TV and Disney. This recognition gives us a strong incentive to continue developing bold and innovative stories.” said Kirill Karnovich-Valua, founder and creative director of Digital da Vincis for Media Marketing.

The project Alternate Re[AI]lity: Computer History around 1890 is a series of social media video content that uses artificial intelligence to recreate a fictional computer era from the 1890s. The format imitates the look of archival silent films, creating pseudo-documentaries about imagined technological innovations from 130 years ago.

The project uses real exhibits from the PEEK&POKE Museum, early computers and consoles to retro telephones and space technology, combined with tools such as Midjourney, Runway, Pika and others.

This award represents not only a major moment for Digital Da Vincis and PEEK&POKE, but also an important step forward for the regional creative industry, which has once again shown that originality, technological innovation and bold storytelling can stand shoulder to shoulder with the world’s biggest productions.
