After a great deal of interest for the first announced speakers of the Days of Communications festival, organized by HURA and IAB Croatia and set to take place March 28 to 31 in Rovinj, the organizers announced another expert that is coming to Croatia, this time from New York. Che-Wei Wang, top designer, artist and creative, is coming with a lecture Can machines make aesthetic design decisions?, and, spoiler alert, they can. “Robots are coming and its time to be worried.”
An MIT, NYU and Pratt Institute alumnus, and exhibitor at the iconic MoMA, Che-Wei Wang is one of the world’s leaders in computing and generative design, and an expert on time and creative computing.
Many of us believe that creativity is one of the human qualities that cannot be copied. However, Wang will present his vision and ways in which computers think creatively and take over parts of the creative process, creativity and design that we have so far been considered sacred and reserved for humans only. In his lecture at Days of Communication, and later in discussions with festival participants, we will find out what is actually design based on the algorithms that NASA uses, and whether there is space for human creativity in the precision governed robotic design.
Che-Wei Wang is one of the world’s leaders who pave the way for others in the segment of generative design, and is coming to Days of Communication alongside already announced global leaders Mat Biespiel, the winner of the world’s best advertiser award and the double award for the most effective advertiser in the world, and Yousef Tuqan Tuqan, Digital Evangelist and Global Innovation Consulting Director in a company that operates in 120 countries, Accenture Interactive.
From year to year, Days of Communication are growing. Organizers announce interesting and diverse content, and invite all advertisers, agencies, public relations experts, media representatives, students and other professionals from the communications industry to attend the festival that has broken all records last year. Early registration and accommodation applications will be open until February 8, 2019.
