Registrations for the Spark.me Startup Competition 2017, in the framework of Spark.me Conference, are open. The winning team will get a chance to present their project for the world’s leading investors and media at the TechCrunch Disrupt “Startup Alley” in San Francisco. The novelty this year is a special award for the second-ranked team, who will have the opportunity to spend 14 days at the Startup Embassy, in Palo Alto, Silicon Valley, which is also this year’s sponsor of the Spark.me Conference. Spark.me is one of the largest business and marketing conferences in South East Europe and will take place on 29 and 30 May, in Bečići near Budva.
Spark.me Startup Competition aims to bring together teams from across the region, and through the conference program and participation in the competition enable them to showcase their projects to the rest of the world. Participation in this competition is open to all startups that were founded after September 1, 2015 (regardless of whether they are formally registered as a company or not), and who have so far received investments totaling less than $2.5 million. These are the eligibility conditions that TechCrunch prescribes for participation in the TechCrunch Disrupt “Startup Alley”, the exhibition area for potentially successful projects and companies, which is visited by leading US and international investors, the media and the general public and that is one of the best opportunities to present your business idea to potential investors and get in touch with people who can help you turn your project into a dream come true, or a successful business.
All that you need to do to sign up for Spark.me Startup Competition is to fill out the registration form at spark.me/2017/startups-2/, after which it will go through the first round of selection. The deadline for applications is 30 April 2017. The list of the top ten startups, which have passed the first round of selection and who will have the opportunity to present themselves to the international jury at Spark.me Conference, will be published on the official website of the conference, www.spark.me, on 19 May 2017. Top rated startup will receive two return airline tickets to San Francisco, hotel accommodation for three days for two people and a chance to realize their dream and present their idea to investors from around the world from 18 to 20 September in San Francisco. The second ranked team will get a chance to spend 14 days at the Startup Embassy, which is located in Palo Alto in Silicon Valley, which is also this year’s sponsor of the Spark.me Conference. It should be noted that transportation costs for the second prize are not covered.
Tickets for the Spark.me Conference can be purchased on the official website of the conference www.spark.me. The full ticket price is €300, but everyone interested can purchase their ticket at a promotional price of €200 until 09 April. As a motivation for all students hungry for knowledge, they also offer student tickets intended for high school students and students of regular, post-graduate and doctoral students who are younger than 27 years, with a price tag of only €50. Ticket price includes access to all sessions during both days of the Conference, lunch at the hotel Mediteran for both days of the conference, refreshments on all coffee breaks during both days of the conference, as well as a cocktail reception the first night of the conference. Ticket price does not include the costs of transport and accommodation. All purchased tickets can be subsequently transferred to another person (“name change”), but there are no refunds.
