Upon taking office, Mitja stated:
“I understand my role on the Supervisory Board of SOZ primarily through two key aspects. The first relates to the fundamental supervisory role, where it is essential that the board operates independently, transparently, and autonomously—separately from the views of management, members, and other bodies of the chamber. In this light, the board provides its opinion on the chamber’s operations and business results, as well as on decisions it is responsible for, in line with its core function.
The second, equally important aspect is that the Supervisory Board also acts as a ‘council of wise individuals’ who thoroughly understand the environment in which SOZ operates. The board points out potential threats that the activities of certain SOZ bodies and its members may pose to the chamber’s position in society. Given SOZ’s specific role in society—which entails significant social responsibility and influence—the role of the Supervisory Board is therefore crucial and invaluable. In this context, of course, there is no place for political interference, lobbying, or disregard for the principles of ethical and transparent conduct of the chamber.”
Mitja began his term on April 1st, and it will last until 2028.
Media Marketing wishes him a successful leadership of the Supervisory Board!
