The Award Winners of the first Effie Awards festival in Serbia are recognized last night in the Radisson Blu Old Mill hotel in Belgrade, in front of about 150 guests, marketing representatives. Two Silver trophies and six Bronze trophies were awarded to the most successful campaigns realized between July 1, 2015 and December 31, 2016.
The Silver Effie in category Telecommunications, for the Viber – Vajber campaign won Leo Burnett Belgrade – Publicis One Serbia agency, client Vip Mobile, and in category New Local Products or Services Introduction, agency Idea Plus Communications for the campaign Kafa nove generacije (Grand Black ‘N’ Easy), client Grand Prom.
In category Beverages – Non-alcohol, the Bronze trophies were won by agency McCann Belgrade for the campaign Separating… 2016 (Schweppes), client The Coca Cola Company, and agency FCB Afirma for the case Jedan krug oko šoljice (Grand kafa Gold), client Grand Prom.
In category Finance & Financial Cards, the Bronze Effie went to agency McCann Belgrade for the campaign Sve se može kad se hoće, client Raiffeisen Bank.
Ovation BBDO in the same category won the Bronze award as well, for the campaign Keš kredit koji rešave sve, client UniCredit Bank.
A Bronze Effie was given in category Food & Snacks & Desserts to agency McCann Belgrade for the campaign Čik prestani da se zabavljaš (Plazma Mini-Mini), client Concern Bambi.
In category Social Good – Brands, a single award, the Bronze Effie, went to the campaign by agency McCann Belgrade Zajedno zaškole roditeljstva (Rosa), client The Coca Cola Company.
Effies recognize the powerful ideas realized through campaigns that have achieved their goal – significant results for clients and brands. These awards are based on precise and clear criteria, and are the best indicator that the investment in marketing pays off.
“At the core of everything we do are great and distinctive ideas that bring results for our clients. I’m proud of the teams of McCann and UM Belgrade. This year we celebrate 20 years of operations under the slogan ‘Power to the people’ and these awards are for the best people and for our partners. Effie awards confirm the slogan of the First Serbian advertising agency from more than a century ago, and that is ‘Ads work!’,” said Srđan Šaper, founder of I&F McCann Grupa.
Agency McCann Belgrade won the highest number of awards – four of them.
“Effie awards confirm the impact and contribution of advertising to the business performance of a brand or a company – which is essential. This further confirms the quality of our strategic and creative services, tools used in the planning and analytics as well as our teamwork with clients. This is a joint success, which makes it even more satisfactory,” said last night Olivera Perković, General Manager of the agency McCann Belgrade.
Besides McCann Belgrade, the success of I&F McCann Grupa was also made possible by UM Belgrade, which was overall the most effective media agency in Serbia.

I am proud of all my colleagues who together with our partners define and realize the winning campaigns. To be the most efficient media agency is what we strive for in every moment of our work, and that is why this recognition is very valuable to us,” said Biljana Kolaković, regional director of the agency UM.
Effie Award is among the most prestigious global awards in advertising. The success of I&F McCann Grupa is the continuation of the success which this year recorded McCann Worldgroup Europe network, which was declared the most effective agency network in Europe, as well as McCann Zagreb and UM Zagreb, also operating within the I&F McCann Grupa, which have been declared overall the most effective group of agencies in Croatia.
