Regional conference of media trends SEMPL, which will be held in Portorož on 24 and 25 November, has joined forces with the media company Media24 and prepared a special issue of the SEMPL 24/7 magazine, featuring interesting interviews with the key speakers at this year’s conference.
“The jury is your consumer that needs to be thrilled”, reads the editorial written by Valerija Prevolšek, president of SEMPL, who adds that the awards for media achievements, the Semplers, are not just about the idea. The jury, in fact, evaluates and rewards its implementation, appropriate use of communication tools, appropriate targeting and, of course, results. Agencies, media planners, advertisers and the media will be able to enter their media projects in competition for Semplers from 1 September onwards.
In one of the interviews Art and Innovations Director at Imago Ogilvy Darko Bosnar talks about the idea with which this Croatian agency last year impressed the jury, winning the Grand Sempler award, while Marko Vičič, a partner in the agency Futura DDB and last year’s jury president, speaks about what is important in the application of works for the Sempler competition.
Virtual reality (VR) is a topic that is becoming increasingly important, so Sempl will also address it. The “creative evangelist” Simon Gosling from the London production studio Happy Finish will speak at the conference about how brands can use all this technology to engage consumers, with several examples of successful use mentioned in his interview with SEMPL24/7.
Can we predict that a video ad will become a viral hit? Kusuma Chumpuree-Reyntjes, head of marketing at the ad tech company Unruly Germany says that using their algorithms they can predict with 90 percent certainty whether this will happen. In an interview she also speaks about why internet is such an appealing tool for advertisers.
