Today’s ever-changing and often chaotic business environment, shaped by digitalization and the Covid-19 pandemic, poses many challenges for organizations. How to adapt the existing modus operandi to the constant changes in order to build a successful and sustainable business model is certainly one of them. Creating a value-based organization is a possible answer to the question posed. When everything is changing, organizations should rely on their values. The results of mapping the values of more than 500 organizations in 35 countries since 1997 support this premise by showing that values-based organizations are undoubtedly the most successful ones.
Values – when authentic, embedded and properly shared – are one of the most powerful strategic tools organizations have to successfully navigate through constant change. However, they should be more than just writing on the wall. Values should be implemented throughout the organization, known by employees, and used in decision-making processes. To create a values-based organization, organizations should first create and maintain a culture where core values are shared by all employees. This is easier said than done.
The workshop will provide participants with an understanding of the importance of the values-based approach and provide them with tools on how to develop a values-based organization. During the workshop, we will also look at how this approach can help organizations address the challenges of the Covid-19 pandemic, increase ethical behavior, innovation, employee engagement, and other outcomes relevant to the organization.
