Life360, the family safety app, is expanding into the world of pet technology with the debut of its Pet GPS tracker. The new device, which can be clipped onto a collar or harness, is designed to give pet owners peace of mind through real-time tracking for both dogs and cats.
Developed by agency Alto, the campaign titled “All the Best People Are Dogs” extends the brand’s trademark humor and candid take on family life – this time, giving the spotlight to the family pet. The animated short unfolds at a lively house party, where a man performs a heartfelt serenade to the crowd (and the dog), explaining why he finds dogs to be far better company than people.
“Dogs aren’t political,” he sings, as flashes of awkward relatives and uncomfortable social moments unfold around him. The humor builds through a series of familiar family missteps – vaping during recitals, giving unwanted vaccine advice, oversharing opinions, before closing on a touching note about loyalty and a clever wink to Life360’s new Pet GPS tracker.
Directed by Steve Ayson of MJZ, with animation by Feral Child and music by Nick Lutsko – the cult composer behind Ren & Stimpy, the film amplifies the offbeat humor that made Life360’s earlier hit “I Think of You (Dying)” go viral. That musical short drew over a million views across Instagram and TikTok for its witty take on modern family anxieties, and this new chapter carries the same sharp wit, but with a warmer emotional core.
The launch represents a natural step forward for Life360, following its 2021 acquisition of Tile, the popular item-tracking company. Since then, Life360 has merged Tile’s technology into its platform, allowing users to assign Tile devices to their pets.
Key features of the Pet GPS include geofencing, which lets users set virtual boundaries and receive escape alerts if a pet wanders off, along with access to Life360’s Pet Finder Network. Owners can create designated safe zones, and if their pet leaves one, the system immediately notifies them. If a pet goes missing, users can issue a lost pet alert that shares key details such as the pet’s name, photo, and contact info with nearby Life360 members. With a community of over 88 million users, Life360 offers a powerful network to help reunite lost pets with their owners.
