With November almost ending, retailers and supermarkets have begun rolling out their Christmas campaigns for the upcoming festive season. Lidl GB is among the latest to introduce its 2025 holiday film, and alongside showcasing its festive story, the supermarket has also confirmed the return of a much-loved service in its stores this year.

Lidl’s Christmas advert leans into the theme of generosity, following the story of a young girl who gradually realises that the season is defined by giving rather than receiving. The one-minute spot shows her observing the people around her, family, friends, and strangers, while reflecting on what makes Christmas meaningful. As she watches small moments of kindness, she begins to understand that the joy of the season comes from sharing time, helping others, and creating connections.

The film’s message highlights that the true value of Christmas isn’t found in gifts, but in the moments we give to others. Lidl uses the campaign to encourage viewers to carry that spirit of generosity throughout the year and bring “a little more joy” into everyday life. “Christmas isn’t about what we receive, but what we share. It’s less ‘me’ and more ‘us’,” the supermarket said.

The supermarket’s new Christmas advert confirms that Lidl will once again run its Christmas Toy Banks, an initiative that collects unopened toys and gifts for donation to local communities. Working in partnership with Neighbourly, the retailer will invite customers to contribute any new, unused items in the weeks leading up to Christmas. Lidl also announced it will support the initiative with £125,000 in grants for its Toy Bank charity partners, provided through the Lidl Community Fund.

The supermarket joins several major retailers in unveiling festive campaigns for the 2025 season. Aldi has released a teaser for its upcoming Christmas advert, which will debut in three installments, while Asda has launched its own film highlighting the cost-of-living challenges many families continue to face this winter.
