“We work in advertising; we do not save lives. That is why we need to keep things in perspective.” With this candid remark, Jonika Dhima Hoomes, founder of Integralis Leadership and former Head of Hyperscale Operations at Google, opened the final day of the 35th Slovenian Advertising Festival (SOF). Drawing on her extensive experience in Silicon Valley, she spoke about why the future of business belongs not to individuals, but to meaningful relationships and partnerships.

Throughout her presentation, which frequently referenced Slovenian brands and the people who help shape their identity, Hoomes addressed the realities of today’s business environment. She highlighted how rapid technological advancement and constant change are creating increasing uncertainty for organizations worldwide. “The scale crisis is real. Job displacement is real,” she emphasized. At the same time, she argued that periods of profound transformation often create the greatest opportunities. “When we look at challenges, opportunities must become possible.”

A central theme of her keynote was the importance of partnerships that extend beyond business interests and short-term outcomes. According to Hoomes, the most successful collaborations are built on trust, complementary strengths, and the shared creation of value. She encouraged the audience to reflect on the people who have contributed to their success: “Think of the person who helped you create a brief that you could not have created on your own.”

She stressed that the true value of the business world lies not only in measurable results or financial performance, but also in the quality of the relationships we build throughout our professional lives. “What matters is not only how much you earn, but also the partnerships you build,” she noted.

The inspiring keynote brought the 35th SOF to a close, leaving the audience with a powerful message: in an era of rapid change, authentic relationships, collaboration, and the ability to create lasting value remain the foundations of long-term success. To be truly unique means preserving, enriching, and giving genuine value to the things that matter most.
