The new competition season of the Days of Communication is open with the regional creativity competition – BalCannes! This is an event that highlights the best works of the communication industry from Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, North Macedonia, Slovenia, and Serbia. A detailed rulebook, serving as a guide for participants on their journey to winning well-deserved awards, is available and filled with useful information. Additionally, translations in the official languages of all participating countries are now accessible on the official website. WHO CAN APPLY?
Whether you’re an established agency or just breaking into the creative scene, BalCannes is the competition where you can showcase and prove why you’re worth noticing. Apart from celebrating the spirit of this region, uniting the best agencies and advertisers from Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, North Macedonia, Slovenia, and Serbia, BalCannes is a testament to unparalleled creativity and originality that goes beyond the norm, sometimes in response to market conditions – but often despite them.
HOW TO APPLY? IN THREE STEPS!
- Provide general project information: Include the project name, agency name, client name, the category you’re competing in, and the company details submitting the project.
- Present your project: This can be done in one of two ways – through a video summary or a PDF document. For the new category group, II. Design Mosaic, projects must be presented exclusively in PDF format. The allowed video summary length is up to 3 minutes.
- Submit the main visual of the campaign: This should be in .jpg/.jpeg format (A4 recommended) with a resolution of at least 300 dpi for promotional purposes. You also need to include a summary of the main challenge from the brief, your solution, and achieved results (maximum of 150 words).
NEW BENEFITS FOR PARTICIPANTS
A new benefit for agencies participating in this year’s competition emphasizes continued involvement and encourages new entries. Agencies that have regularly submitted work in the past two years now have the chance to utilize the 3 + 1 free promotion, meaning that for every three submitted projects, they can submit an additional one for free. On the other hand, agencies that have not submitted work in the past two years are entitled to one free initial submission. This initiative opens doors for both new and existing agencies to present their projects and compete for prestigious awards.
DEADLINE AND ELIGIBILITY
You can apply for BalCannes 2025 until January 20, 2025. Eligible projects include those implemented during the two-year qualification period from January 20, 2023, to January 20, 2025.
CATEGORY GROUPS
This year, projects can compete in three category groups:
- Market Mosaic
- Design Mosaic
- Positive Change Mosaic
It is possible to submit the same project multiple times – your work can be entered in multiple categories across all three groups.
