Hong Kong Ballet has a new print and branding campaign, with quite a different approach to design. The dancers are placed in iconic Hong Kong landmarks with very inviting visual execution that combines the traditional and the new.
The new image comes after the appointment of Septime Webre as its new artistic director, who previously worked for the Washington Ballet.
The ads, which encompass brand photography and program brochure creative, are described as “fairy tale-esque”, depicting the dancers as characters that are caught in exaggerated ballet poses.
Agency behind the campaign is the Design Army which drew inspiration from tradition, which iss why the campaign is full of vibrant red and blue colors, but still the overall feel of the visuals is markedly modern.
