On 31 May, in the framework of the Slovenian Marketing Conference (SMK), Slovenian Marketing Association (DMS) will announce the winner of the Marketing Excellence award that last year for the first time expanded to include the award for the marketing director of the year. The award is intended for the complete company which, through its marketing orientation and approach, represents a model to the entire marketing and business community.
With the Marketing Excellence Award, DMS rewards companies or organizations which use contemporary marketing approaches and a combination of different business functions within the company to introduce marketing thinking in their daily operations and overall strategy of the company. Only such approach and attitude towards work allows companies to stand out and achieve competitive advantage. Last year Celtra, Postojnska Jama, Krka and Adriatic Slovenica with concrete figures showed the role of marketing in improving business results of the company, and the prestigious award was taken by Postojnska Jama.
The selection is the result of thorough and demanding two-stage analyses. Of the 2,000 successful companies, the preliminary committee consisting of Darko Dujič (president of DMS, Ceneje.si), Jaka Lenardič (Enki), Sašo Palčič (Madwise), Mitja Pirc (Pristop Business Consulting) and Špela Žorž (Grey Ljubljana), chose 117 enterprises and organizations who were invited to participate in the selection process for the award Marketing Excellence 2016.
The second level committee, which in addition to Darko Dujić included Eva Aljančič (BMW Group Slovenia), Marja Feldin (SipaBoards), Peter Frankl (Časnik Finance), Nataša Mithans (Pristop), Karmen Škoda Piško (Adriatic Slovenica) and Tamara Zajec Balažič (Insurance Maribor), selected the finalists in three different categories.
Finalists for the Marketing Excellence Awards 2016 are:
- In category of SMEs, B2B and B2C segment: LUMAR Ig, MEDEX Ljubljana and ŠPICA INTERNATIONAL, Ljubljana.
- In category of large companies, core business in B2B segment: ADRIA MOBIL Novo mesto, KRKA Novo mesto and RENAULT NISSAN SLOVENIJA.
- In category of large companies, core business in B2C segment: LIDL Slovenija, MOBIL Ljubljana and TRIGLAV INSURANCE Ljubljana.
Final decision on winners of the Marketing Excellence 2016 award will be announced on 31 May, at the award ceremony in the evening part of the Slovenian Marketing Conference in Portorož.
