The fifth edition of the Greencajt Festival, the leading regional platform for ESG transformation, will take place from May 21 to 23, 2025, at Pavilion 13 of the Zagreb Fair. For three days, Zagreb will become a hub for discussions on strategies and pathways toward a sustainable future, hosting some of the most influential change-makers from around the world. The program will feature over 30 sessions, including lectures, panels, masterclasses, and special formats aimed at addressing a range of pressing contemporary issues.
The festival’s program focuses on key challenges facing global society – from adapting business practices to stricter ESG regulations, to urban planning solutions for green cities, and the impact of artificial intelligence on our climate future. One of the most crucial business topics is the transformation of brands in the era of sustainability. On the festival’s opening day, this topic will be addressed by Sara Riis-Carstensen, a global branding expert who has worked with major brands such as LEGO, De Beers, and Lufthansa. In her talk, she will explore the role of strategic communication in ESG policies and how consumers are increasingly choosing “green” brands.

Artificial intelligence and its potential in climate solutions will take a spotlight role at this year’s Greencajt. Speaking on the topic will be Brett StClair, one of South Africa’s most prominent tech speakers, former Google executive, and co-founder of Teraflow.ai.

The second day of the festival will open with a session exploring how European cities are responding to the challenges of the green transition. The keynote will be delivered by Damian Cerrone, founder of SPIN Unit and the UrbanistAI platform, offering first-hand insights into Scandinavian models of sustainable urbanism.
Greencajt 2025 also highlights the powerful role of women’s perspectives in sustainable practices. Among the standout names is Lily Cole, British activist, entrepreneur, and former supermodel, globally recognized for her work on Impossible.com and the Green Carpet Challenge initiative.

One of the festival’s most inspiring talks comes from the culinary world – Nick Curtin, chef of Alouette restaurant in Copenhagen, which boasts a Michelin star for sustainable gastronomy, will lead the “Zero Waste Masterclass from Denmark”. This unique workshop will demonstrate how the philosophy of sustainability can be literally served on a plate.

The program also explores the potential for transforming dietary habits in Croatia with the panel “How to Change Eating Habits and Create Green Habits?”, bringing local perspectives on sustainable food systems.
The festival will also open important dialogues on the impact of politics on the climate agenda – Kristine Munkgård Pedersen, Climate Program Director from the City of Copenhagen, will share how the Danish capital became a global symbol of smart climate transition. Similarly, Andrea Geremicca, Director of the European Institute of Innovation for Sustainability, will discuss how his work bridges academic expertise and practical ESG strategy implementation at the European level.
Tickets are available on the official website, and more information about the Festival can be found on its social media pages – Instagram and Facebook.
