Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Slovenia and the Union for the Mediterranean yesterday launched the Creative Forum Ljubljana Conference, which takes place in the City Museum of Ljubljana.
The conference strives towards launching a new polycentric network of cultural and creative industries that will serve as a model for regional cooperation, job creation, and economic growth, and as a small piece of the puzzle for the global EU strategy plan.
Over the two-days, this event showcases the cooperation between high representatives of EU institutions, ministries of foreign affairs, the Union for the Mediterranean, and SEECP participants, as well as international institutions, local communities, and experts from these regions.
First day of the Conference included a lineup of panel discussion that defined the potentials of creativity for research and development, stimulating economy and fostering hope. Digital creativity and digital economy were also in the focus during the first day, with a special highlight on their stimulating nature for younger generations and their potential as the tool for tackling high level of migration from the region.
The second day of the event includes a high-level political forum that will seek to promote cooperation between the Western Balkans and the Southern Mediterranean, the transfer of good practices to the South and the exchange of views on a wide range of strategic topics in the Mediterranean. It will be hosted by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Slovenia Karl Erjavec and the Secretary General of the Union for the Mediterranean Jorge Borrego, with the participation of the UfM Co-Presidencies, ministers, and high representatives of EU and international institutions.
