What happens when you bring together the most promising young minds of the creative industry and one of the most important social challenges of today? You get 24 hours of an intense fight for an idea powerful enough to push boundaries. The ninth edition of Young Lions BiH was not just a search for aesthetics, but a deeper reflection on how creativity can strengthen the role of women in decision-making processes.
In collaboration with UN Women Bosnia and Herzegovina, a total of nine teams were given a brief that demanded more than marketing, it required empathy and vision. The task was clear, yet complex: to create a campaign that would encourage society to recognise women as leaders and motivate citizens to vote for female candidates in the upcoming elections.
As the clock ticked in rooms filled with adrenaline, the challenge was to find that one authentic tone that would resonate. The most compelling response came from the Via Media team, Anisa Omeragić and Amar Rahić. Their solution in the Digital category was named the best and crowned with the prestigious Grand Prix award.
This victory is their ticket to the world’s biggest stage of creativity, the Cannes Lions festival, where they will represent Bosnia and Herzegovina this June.
Further proof of the precision this year’s theme required is the work of the independent team Anja Trbojević and Slaven Stajić, who won in the Design category. The seriousness of the task and the high standards of the regional jury are best reflected in the fact that no winner was awarded in the PR category this year, underlining that there is no room for compromise when communicating issues of this importance.
The works were judged by Haris Buljubašić (UN Women BiH), Luka Mavretić (Imago Ogilvy), Jovana Bradaš (McCann Belgrade), Igor Kalaba (Aquarius Group) and Lucija Dorotić (404 Agency).
Young Lions BiH, held under the umbrella of the Branding Conference and organised by Via Media, has for nearly a decade been a key platform for the development of young talent under the age of 30. As an agency that continuously invests in the creative scene and connects local talent with global trends, Via Media fully enables this invaluable experience for the winning team, covering the costs of Cannes Lions accreditation, accommodation and flights.
