In the competition program of the 28th Slovenian Advertising Festival, which will be held on 11 and 12 April in Portorož, 365 works will be competing for awards.
Entries will be judged by an expert jury, made up of top experts led by Anže Jereb, regional executive creative director at BBDO Ukraine and Central Asia.
The Young Creatives Competition has filled all available places, four more than last year. This year, for the first time, one place is reserved for the pair of Young Creative Hopes – winners of contest for students without an agency experience.
Leading the jury of the Young Creative Hopes and Young Creatives competitions was entrusted to Aljoša Bagola, executive creative director at Pristop Agency.
“The 28th SOF is ahead of us. A total of 365 entries have been submitted, 251 in the WHAT section, and 114 in the WHY section. There are entries in all categories, even those that are slightly more specialized, which fills us with optimism, as this is an indicator of the prosperity of the industry. In the WHY section, most entries were in the OOH category (50 works), followed by the Craft Excellence (39 entries) followed. In the WHY section, Reach category dominates with 29 entries, followed by the Branded Content group with 27 entries. We are pleased that this year’s renewed competition, besides the regular applicants, attracted some new entrants and saw several returnees. One of the key goals of revamping the categories was to create a contest that is open to everyone, and which would support the variety of creative communications,” commented Petra Krulc, chairman of the SOF’s Competition Board, and Executive Creative Director at Grey Ljubljana.
Under the baton of jury president Anže Jereb, the works will be judged by: Kristijan Andoljšek, Art Director, Innovatif, Luka Bajs, Creative Director, Grey Ljubljana, Miha Bevc, Creative Director & Partner, BPCS, Robert Bohinec, Creative Director, Futura DDB, Maša Butara, Head of Content and Digital Strategies, Luna\TBWA, Drago Mlakar, Creative Director, Pristop, Sašo Petek, Creative Director, Agency 101 and Urška Saletinger, Head of Corporate Communications, Abelium.
In the selection of the new, most prestigious award of the festival, the SOF of SOF, the Jury will be joined by three international members: Vanja Blumenšajn, Creative Director, Señor Zagreb, Veljko Golubović, Executive Creative Director, New Moment Belgrade, and Jana Savić Rastovac, Creative Director, McCann Belgrade.
Three representatives of the advertiser appointed by the Slovenian Association of Advertisers at the Slovenian Advertising Chamber will be participating in the assessment of the Brand Management category: Valentin Bufolin, Marketing Director, Lidl Slovenia, Metka Kejžar, Director of Marketing and Public Relations, Autocommerce and Petra Žagar, head of brand marketing, Ljubljanska mlekarna.
The Golden Night will reveal the winners of the prestigious silver, gold and big SOF awards. There will also be prestigious prizes for Advertising Person of the Year, which this year went to Mojca Randl, founder and director of the Formitas Group, as well as Advertiser of the Year award. The peak of the evening will be the announcement of the Brand of the Year 2019, Agency of the Year 2019, and the new SOF of SOF Award.
