SUPPORT THE CROWDFUNDING CAMPAIGN FOR CROATIA’S FIRST CAFÉ THAT WILL EMPLOY PEOPLE WITH DOWN SYNDROME
Two days ago a crowdfunding campaign was launched on the Indiegogo platform, with a noble cause of opining the first café in Croatia that will employ people with Down syndrome – the Buba Bar.
The campaign was launched by the Association Bubamara (Ladybug) from Vinkovci, which takes care of more than 1,400 people with disabilities in the Vukovar-Srijem County, employs about 245 people and has successfully applied and implemented more than 80 projects. Part of the funds for equipping Buba Bar has been secured by the Croatian company HEP, and part of the funding is planned to be secured through the campaign on Indiegogo. Since yesterday morning, when the campaign became active, it has already collected more than 20 percent of the planned $10,000. But this is only the first goal, and it is enough for the minimum conditions for Buba Bar to be functional. All financial assets that exceed the set goal will also be used for additional equipping of the Buba Bar.
The Buba Bar will employ people with Down syndrome and will be the first café in Croatia where guests are served by people with disabilities.
TBWA\ZAGREB HOSTS KANES
Kultura Futura, the association of artists of a new era, successfully organized the annual conference of actors on the electronic scene KANES 2016, which was held in front of many participants at the premises of marketing agency TBWA, which was the sponsor of the event. Participants of the conference could hear from the leading people in electronic music, such as Blacksoul, Ivan Komlinović, DANCElectricPHILIPE, Arsen Pavešić, Nikola Fuchkar and Damir Ludvig, and learn all about the current situation on the domestic scene and what are the challenges in front of its stakeholders in the future.
Goran “DJ Go Cut” Vlajić, the main organizer of the conference, said: “I’m pleased with the interest for this conference, because it shows that people very much care about the survival of the electronic scene, to which we are committed for years now. Positive echoes of the speakers and the audience are much needed encouragement to continue the work to improve the situation in this field.”
Senad Mehdin, managing director of TBWA Zagreb, commented KANES 2016: “TBWA is a disruptive company, which means that we continuously strive to make changes in the way the marketing industry operates. The same role is played by the electronic music in its field, so this partnership is logical and very important for us, and we were pleased to respond to its call.”
