RECORD NUMBER OF APPLICATIONS FOR 9. GRAND PRIX OF CROATIAN PUBLIC RELATIONS ASSOCIATION
A total of 61 projects have been applied, which confirms the importance that this award has among professionals who deal with public relations.
Great interest in the Grand Prix of Croatian Public Relations Association (HUOJ) confirms that the award pays tribute to experts for public relations who have excelled in the design and implementation of various communication projects in companies, government institutions, local self-government units, non-governmental organizations, and agencies for public relations.
Prizes will be awarded in nine categories: Corporate social responsibility, Public sector, Adaptation of global campaign, Small and medium business, Large business, Internal communication and Digital communication. In addition to the above, HUOJ is awarding two special prizes: Communicator of the year, and Special award for contribution to the profession. The novelty of this year is the award for the best agency of the 9th Grand Prix.
Upon completion of the competition, the jury evaluated all submitted projects and selected the finalists. The finalists are invited to a meeting, where they will present their projects, and the jury will then decide on the winners in each category. Meeting for the finalists will be held today, Wednesday, 2 March, from 10:00 hours.
Winners will be announced at the gala dinner to be held on 11 March 2016 in Matis Absolute Lounge in Zagreb.
DESIGN DISTRICT ZAGREB: A NEW FESTIVAL THAT PROMOTES URBAN DEVELOPMENT
The Zagreb district whose artery is Marticeva street in June will shine with the new exciting festival! The Design District Zagreb festival and the eponymous wider project will affirm this neighborhood as a creative hub. Although until recently known for its numerous stores of car parts and car dealerships, this neighborhood in recent years spontaneously transformed its urban identity and today is flourishing thanks to many valuable cultural and creative initiatives. The culmination of the project will be a four-day festival, June 16 to 19, intended for a wider range of citizens and tourists, while a number of other activities will be held continuously in order to ensure long-term improvement of the quality of life in this neighborhood.
Creative Director of Design District Zagreb is Ira Payer, while the organizers are Croatian Design Superstore and Design Center Zagreb. The project takes place in cooperation with the Zagreb Tourist Board and the City of Zagreb, and with the support of the Croatian Designers Society, Zagreb Society of Architects and the Association of Croatian Architects.
P&G OVERTAKES UNILEVER AS TOP ADVERTISER ON WARC 100 LIST
Procter & Gamble has taken over the throne of the world’s top advertiser from Unilever. On this year’s Warc 100 list of the best campaigns, there are nine P&G’s, while Unilever is present on the list with three. An interesting fact that can be noticed on the list is that the digital campaigns, especially social media and online video, are proving to be very effective. 11 campaigns in top 20 are managed digitally. As for the agency network, the top 3 this year are BBDO Worldwide, Ogilvy & Mather Advertising, and DDB Worldwide, while the top 3 brands are Coca-Cola, McDonald’s and OPSM. STARCOM MEDIAVEST LAYS OFF 80 PEOPLE
Starcom MediaVest Group has laid off 80 people, claiming that it was part of a larger restructuring, and that layoffs are not the result of the recent loss of several important clients. The cuts in personnel, says the company, will not be carried out only in one department or team, but will be implemented across the company. It should be noted that MediaVest, part of Publicis Groupe, earlier this year lost one of its biggest clients in North America, Walmart, which in 2014 alone spent $907 on measured media in the US. Also, at the end of last year, SMG lost part of the business from P&G, as well as some of the Coca-Cola business.
JEEP UNVEILS INTERACTIVE AD FOR BATMAN V SUPERMAN: DAWN OF JUSTICE
Jeep continues its partnership with Warner Bros on the long-awaited film, Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, within which the brand has unveiled a new interactive campaign that links the film to their Renegade SUV model.
