NEW ISSUE OF MARKETING MAGAZINE IS OUT
Ten years ago Nina Tomažin, together with Alenka Vidić, established an agency for public relations Propiar which has grown into one of the most respected agencies of its kind in Slovenia. In the title interview of the March issue of Marketing Magazine, Tomažin talks about the situation in the field of public relations, where not only marketing budgets have moved, but also the marketing mindset.
“Marketing budgets, due to the crisis, got cut down and advertisers concluded that they could save considerable amounts if they conduct their promotional activities through public relations, and not through creative solutions, or rather advertising. Marketing budgets were thus diverted to public relations which is a good news for communicators. The bad news is that the marketing logic has also moved to the area of public relations. This means that there are attempts to measure the results of public relations the same way as in advertising, which is a big problem. So we have already had a client who, if I can give an extreme example, demanded their logo in PR publication. We constantly have to educate some clients about why this doesn’t work. This – to resist such thinking and openly say it – of course requires great courage, because it often happens that a client will tell you they no longer need you,” Tomažin said among other things in the interview for MM.
In the new issue, Marketing Magazine also brings Mediana’s overview of gross value of advertising in 2015, explores the best advertising campaigns, agencies and advertisers in 2015 in the region, writes on the issue of audience, and talks with other interesting interviewees such as Urška Sršen, co-founder Bellabeat and Christian Rainer, chief editor of Austrian weekly magazine Profil. CONTENT MARKETING: HOW TO USE CONTENT TO ATTRACT NEW TOURISTS
Content marketing in tourism has become a very important segment of advertising and communication with potential tourists and guests. Guests of all ages are increasingly online, exploring destinations, locations, offer, and make decisions on the basis of these information. Content marketing has the task to attract and interest, as opposed to the previous methods where ads were pushed aggressively.
Owners of accommodation of any type and size can use content marketing through blogs to present their offer and encourage tourists to visit them, who later become very loud mouth to mouth marketing. Guests can also be attracted through other channels of content marketing, for example video, detailed guides, maps with marked monuments and others. One of the ways that is gaining in popularity are mobile apps.
Satisfied guests talk with others both live and on social networks, and dissatisfied guests talk even more.
You can find out how to design and implement content marketing campaigns at the seminar Content Marketing – How to attract buyers with content that will take place on Tuesday, 08 March in Mostar, on Wednesday, 09 March in Sarajevo, and Thursday 10 March in Banja Luka. The lecturer is Ilija Brajković from agency Akcija, which used content marketing to get ahead in the market.
