Dhar Media, a marketing agency operating under the principles of Dharmic Management and one of the TOP 100 agencies in Croatia, has become a member of the world’s largest corporate sustainability initiative, the UN Global Compact, whose mission is to coordinate action strategies based on the fundamental principles of human rights, environmental protection and the fight against corruption, and take measures for progress and fulfilling of the goals of sustainable development.

After the conference entitled “Business Superheroes – Body, Mind, Spirit”, aimed at presenting the concept of Dharmic Management to companies, ie the applicable ways of managing all aspects of business, it was a very logical move for Dhar Media to become a member of such a worldwide initiative , thus proving the persistence in its mode of business, which reflects all the fundamental principles of the UN Global Compact.

“Sustainable development and responsible business according to the ten principles of the UN Global Compact should be pervasive in every business and not just as a responsibility to the community, but also to individuals in the company. Dhar Media has launched the initiative for change by presenting the Dramatic Leadership program and has committed itself to being an active member and a driver of change according to the UN Global Compact’s underlying principles,” said Lea Brezar, CEO of Dhar Media.

AMAZON ABANDONS AGGRESSIVE PROMOTION OF OWN PRODUCTS AMID BREAK UP CALLS

Amazon faces criticism over conquesting ads, but keeps pressing on

Amazon has scaled back its controversial practice of promoting its own products over the past few weeks, in which it gave preferential treatment to its own products in the form of high visibility, preferential search rankings, and alignment with the ‘buy box’ of competitors.

The e-commerce giant appears to have acted in response to hardening attitudes to Silicon Valley with Amazon seeking to forestall any further criticism by voluntarily retreating from some of its most aggressive sales techniques.

Previously searches for products falling into this category would display a banner of Amazon’s own wares under a ‘Top Rated from Our Brands’ tab at the top of results. Under the new regime, those placements have been pushed further down the page.

24 Hours: (D)Conversation with Boris Ljubičić; Facebook is not for kids; Apple is preparing three new Macs; Chief Creative Officer of Droga5 placed on leave 1

Facebook’s founder and chief executive Mark Zuckerberg has hinted the social network is exploring ways to better fund journalism after Silicon Valley counterpart Apple launched a divisive news product of its own.

Speaking with Mathias Döpfner, chief executive of Europe’s largest publisher Axel Springer, Zuckerberg admitted that he is looking at ways to “surface high-quality and trustworthy information” and is considering a business model to support this, although he admitted the company would not charge for content.

This followed in the tracks of the Apple News launch, a magazine subscription service that threatens to undercut established individual subscription models by offering 300 publications for $9.99 a month. Zuckerberg said: “We’re coming to this from a very different perspective than I think some of the other players in the space who view news as a way that they want to maximize their revenue. That’s not necessarily the way that we’re thinking about this.”
