BBH ELEVATES PELLE SJOENELL TO WORLDWIDE CHIEF CREATIVE OFFICER
BBH has selected a new worldwide chief creative officer, founder of BBH Los Angeles Pelle Sjoenell, to oversee creative work for the agency’s various offices, effective immediately.
Sjoenell most recently served as executive creative director for BBH Los Angeles, which he launched in 2010 after spending three years at BBH New York. While working in the L.A. office, Sjoenell joined forces with Scooter Braun in 2014 and launched a production company called The Creative Studio. The company was designed to bring advertising and entertainment together for BBH clients, creating everything from ads to music videos.
In his time at BBH, Sjoenell has contributed to some award-winning campaigns including the “Clean Your Balls” campaign for Axe and the “Dear Sophie” spot for Google.

A singular honour has just been awarded to someone from India’s advertising and communications industry for the first time. On the occasion of India’s Republic Day on January 26, Ogilvy & Mather executive chairman and creative director Piyush Pandey was named a recipient of the prestigious Padma Shri award.
The Padma Shri (also spelled Padma Shree) is the fourth highest civilian award in the Republic of India. The honour is awarded to citizens of India in recognition of their distinguished contribution in various spheres of activity including science, medicine, arts, education, sports, public affairs, industrialists, cinema stars, conservation, and even farming. First handed out in 1954, the award is presented by the Indian government with past winners including Mother Teresa of Calcutta, director Satjayit Ray, and actor Irrfan Khan.
Piyush Pandey has been with Ogilvy & Mather since 1982. He cites the 2000 Cadbury Dairy Milk campaign as a career highlight since it was named “Campaign of the Century” by the Abbys. That same year, the Ogilvy commercial for Fevikwik was named “Commercial of the Century” also by the Abbys.

AMAZON TAPS ALEC BALDWIN FOR THEIR FIRST-EVER SUPER BOWL AD
Amazon has tapped the actor Alec Baldwin and former Miami Dolphins quarterback Dan Marino for its first-ever Super Bowl campaign.
In the teaser for the yet-to-air spot, Baldwin and Marino are seen brainstorming ideas for a Super Bowl party and consult Amazon’s Echo wireless voice command device to clear up what a ‘Snacks Stadium‘ is.
