Coach of the Croatian national football team Zlatko Dalić was declared the Communicator of the Year 2018. The award was presented at the 12th Grand PRix awards of the Croatian Public Relations Association.
“Coach Zlatko Dalić communicates sincerely and directly. He delighted his team, and all their fans, with openness, restraint and determination. He was excellent in communication in crisis situations. On the way to the silver medal at the World Cup, he became an excellent example why a good leader should also be a successful communicator,” said Maja Gradišar Perotić, president of the jury of the 12th Grand PRix.
Receiving the award, Dalić pointed out that his communication is led by his desire to be a good coach. This meant communication needs to be simple, reliable, and honest.
The title of Anti-Communicators of the Year went to Croatia’s parliamentarians. Their communication has been highlighted as the worst in Croatia last year.
“In the absence of better quality and more appropriate content, representatives of all political options are involved in inappropriate communication, but also in different performance acts, whose only goal is the short-term shift of attention to themselves and capturing a piece of media attention,” said Maja Gradišar Perotić and called on MPs to step up the quality of their communication.
They can be helped in this by Krešimir Macan. This communications expert received the Grand PRix for contribution to the profession.
“Once one of the pioneers of public relations in Croatia and the founder of Manjgura, one of the oldest domestic public relations agencies, is today one of the most recognizable communications experts. Krešimir Macan has given great advancement to the development of profession in several areas – strategic, political and crisis communication,” said Ana Tkalac Verčič, President of HUOJ.
The best agency in this year’s Grand PRix was Komunikacijski ured Colić, Laco i partneri. Namely, that agency won the highest points in evaluation of projects that entered the finals.
