This year, Mercator implemented a number of significant activities related to business operations and promotion of domestic products, with the aim of stimulating domestic production, and thus ensuring lasting job stability in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
One of the important projects that Mercator promoted this year was “Bio Once, Bio Always” – a healthy food project in which Mercator offered its customers a large number of products from various brands, with special attention dedicated to their proprietary healthy food brand Bio-zone. They also implemented the project “We Love Local”, where they presented the traditionally prepared products. The project included more than fifteen small farms that produce good and healthy food, encourage the development of organic production and firmly stand behind the quality of their products.
“We are very pleased to be among the first to participate in Mercator’s project ‘We Love Local’, because thanks to this project we, local producers, have the opportunity to break through to the market, to offer our products to customers on special shelves of a large trading chain such as Mercator, and thus ensure better placement of our products. Through this project, our products have already become a recognizable brand on the market,” said Nenad Ljubojević from the Agricultural Coop Uvac-Rudo, one of the representatives of small producers.
With the campaign “My Brands, Our Values”, for the first time on the market of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Mercator united traders and producers in a campaign, to further promote the value of domestic production. On the shelves they labelled the products from this project and thus pointed to the importance of Bosnian-Herzegovinian production and helped customers find their favorite home-made products.
For the end of the year, and with the message “Good to All”, Mercator prepared a rich assortment of cheeses and meat delicacies for customers, with novelties such as a salty cheese cake with various ingredients, with smoked salmon, nuts or green pepper. The Gastro department of the company has prepared a holiday offer of ready-made dishes, from turkey to French salad, with the indispensable traditional homemade sarma, and the dessert department offers shoppers a wide variety of pies and cakes. To find everything you need for an ideal holiday, the regular catalogue offer was enriched with three additional catalogues: toys, holiday decorations and tech.
