During the World Travel Market (WTM) fair, as part of the Croatian stand, a new promotional spot of the Croatian Tourism Board was premiered. Around 200 participants attended the presentation of the spot, including numerous partners, co-exhibitors and representatives of foreign and domestic media.
“This is one of the most important tourist fairs in the world, so it was an excellent opportunity for Croatia as a tourist destination to use the new promotional spot and present itself to the travel organizers who have a strong influence on tourist traffic. The new promotional spot is the result of a careful listening to the domestic and foreign expert public and our aim was to connect our tourist offer, ie Croatian natural and cultural beauties, with our athletes, as well as artists who are globally recognizable stars and proven best promoters of Croatia in the world,” said Barbara Mesić, adding: “We are especially proud that the main actors of this spot, apart from love for Croatia, have also shown their great heart and agreed to participate in the filming without financial compensation.”
The new promotional spot was shot at various recognizable locations in Croatia, and included 10 celebrities from the world of sports and art, including Luka Modrić, Ivan Rakitić, Mario Mandžukić, Mateo Kovačić, Dejan Lovren, Dario Šarić, Marin Čilić, 2Cellos, Maksim Mrvica and Zrinka Cvitešić. Director of the ad is a well-known Croatian director and screenwriter, Nevio Marasović, and partner on the project is BBDO Zagreb. With this promotional video, Croatia wants to position itself further on the international market through well-known and successful personalities, following the great sports events scheduled in the next year, such as the XXIII Olympic Winter Games in Korea, Football World Cup in Russia, and European Championship in handball in Croatia. Besides the famous Croatian destinations, the spot also aims to promote other forms of offerings, such as cultural and historical heritage, eno-gastronomy, active vacation, nautical content, natural beauty and other segments of Croatian tourism.
The added value of the overall project is its humanitarian character. Namely, the Croatian Tourism Board will provide HRK 500,000.00 for humanitarian purposes, whereby each of the participants in the video will have the opportunity to donate the amount of HRK 50,000.00 to a particular association that, with their work and activities, helps sick children.
The promotional spot was presented within the Wine & Cheese Meetup, organized by the Croatian Tourism Board and the Croatian Chamber of Commerce, so numerous guests had the opportunity to taste and enjoy the finest Croatian cheeses and wines of the Vina Croatia brand. On this occasion, Croatia presented itself as a country of top quality gourmet delicacies and generous hosts.
