Samsung has made a new spot for their Galaxy A8 smartphone, recreating a viral video from 2015. In this unconventional and moving video, Samsung went out to the streets, and filmed the reactions of millennials to being called beautiful.
The spot touts the camera capabilities of Samsung’s latest smartphones. „Capture your true self with Galaxy A8,” the ad says. “It lets you be you.”

The video might seem familiar to you, and that’s because it recreates a social experiment in which Shea Glover, a YouTube influencer, filmed the same concept for her channel. Her video quickly went viral and generated nearly 18 million YouTube views. Check it out below.
For the Samsung ad, Glover reprised her role of on-the-street interviewer/photographer (this time slinging the latest Galaxy A8, of course). She also co-directed the spot, part of a global campaign created with Cheil Worldwide.
