Three drawings made by children with Down syndrome adorn the labels of the limited edition of Zvijezda sunflower oil which will soon roll out in the Croatian market. These designs were the result of the contest Sunflower Heart organized by the Agency for Public Relations Komunikacijski Laboratorij, in collaboration with Zvijezda, the first Croatian oil factory, and the Association for Down Syndrome – Zagreb.
The contest for drawings that will adorn the new labels included more than 30 sunflower children, as the children with Down syndrome are sometimes called because they radiate love and joy. Since sunflower is the plant which makes Zvijezda’s products, children were given the opportunity to actively participate in creating the limited edition.
Zvijezda’s jury selected three out of 50 of their works, for which citizens could vote and thus decide which of them will become the label of sunflower oil. Listening to the word of consumers who responded to the action in really large numbers, Zvijezda decided to reward all three drawings and convert them into labels.
Around 500,000 bottles of sunflower oil with the winning works, made by Lorena Hornjak, Anamarija Babić and Lucija Ivić, will go on sale soon. The bottle with the first label, drawn by Lorena, can already be found on store shelves, while the labels with other winning drawings will hit the stores in April, and May.
“We are pleased that a large number of our customers recognized the wards of the Association of Down Syndrome – Zagreb as people who achieve their victories every day. This prompted us to slightly change the rules of the contest and award three finalists,” said Jasna Pulić, Marketing Director at Zvijezda, who rewarded the kids with three tablets that will facilitate learning.
Komunikacijski Laboratorij has also organized an exhibition of works presented at Vanna’s charity concert on the occasion of International Day of Persons with Down syndrome in the Vatroslav Lisinski hall in Zagreb.
