Although the title may once again seem as the beginning of a joke, it’s actually a very serious question. During the Great Britain’s Day, the Hypermarket Mercator Šiška will abound in a variety of events, offerings and visitors. From the ingredients for a classic English breakfast, over fish and chips, to the tea at five and a wide selection of jams and beers – all this will characterize the days of April and May in Šiška. There will also be no lack of the British sense of humor, or language lessons.
But why is Great Britain so present among the world tastes at the prestigious Mercator center, which was last year listed among the top 15 malls in the world last year? The merits for this should be attributed to the excellent cooperation of Mercator with the British-Slovenian Chamber of Commerce, which is preparing a series of events in close cooperation with the British Embassy. The organizers are particularly proud of the fact that they have been granted official permission to use the communication slogan Great, which has marked to years of UK cool in pop music, film, fashion and culinary arts.
In the days of the event in Mercator Šiška, shoppers in Ljubljana will have the chance to take a drive in a real London double-decker bus. Two lucky buyers will win the grand prize – a trip to London to the royal wedding in a grand prize game.
Mercator’s associates made special effort with the POS materials. The Arnold Vuga Agency for the Days of Great Britain in Mercator Šiška recorded two witty TV ads in which the English visitor is truly delighted to see how much interest there is for UK in Slovenia, how well his interlocuters speak English language. Ads were directed by Primož Bregar, whom the Slovenian public know primarily as an excellent photographer, who among other things did all major Mercator campaigns in the past year.
